Logan David Preston Kiser
Logan was born in Martinsburg, WV to his parents Lisa Cox and Bowen “Pete” Kiser but grew up in Berkeley Springs, WV. He was a sweet baby that began walking by age 1 and from there was nonstop. So full of energy and enthusiasm… he was hard to keep up with. He spent his childhood growing up on our family farm learning about the farm life. He loved tending to his animals and at the age of 1 had his very own pony from Chincoteague Island that he name Logan’s Phantom Pooh Boy, which we call Pooh and still have today.
Logan loved spending time with his Pappy Gene and Pappy Roger who taught him all about guns, fishing, and hunting. By age 8 Logan had a little sister that he at first wasn’t sure of but soon loved dearly. He and his little sister Kenzie had a special bond and Logan loved being a big brother to her. In addition to Kenzie, Logan grew up with his cousin’s Cody, Casey, Creede, David and Jacob which he remained close to.
Logan did well in school. He began playing BSHS freshman football in 8th grade and loved the brotherhood he felt playing the sport. He admired his coaches and the game whether they won or lost. He continued to play throughout high school until hand injury his Junior year left him in a cast for over a year leaving him very disappointed and unable to play his Senior year. Following high school he dreamed of joining the army and met with a recruiter to do so. Unfortunately that dream was never met due a injury and misfortune.
Logan began working at the Cacapon State Park at the boat docks during the summer of 2016 with one of his best friends. After he graduated from BSHS he went back to the state park and become a full-time maintenance employee. He enjoyed working at the park and helped with the park renovation.
Unfortunately Logan was taken from us too soon on July 25th 2020 when the good lord called him home.
Logan had many friends and there’s countless memories I could share about his life. He loved his family and spending the holidays together. He loved music and his guitar. He was an old soul with much wisdom for 20 year old. Logan put others before him when they were upset and hurting, he impacted many young lives with his kindness. His teachers told me he was such a humble young man with many friends that went out of his way to boast others morale. His friends often tell me how he showed them how to be a better person just by simple gestures like helping someone, being polite, holding the door for an elder. Simple things I’m proud my son picked up that make me so proud of him.
In the 20 years I was able to share with my son I can say he lived. He swam with the dolphins, went to the Grand Ole Opry, saw his hero Willie Nelson a couple times, he fell in love, he had a wonderful personality, and a smile that was contagious, a heart that helped others, a family and friends that loved and adored him and I’m blessed with every second and memory I have of him.
