Darnell Earl Johnson Jr., was born May 31st, 1991 in Fresno Ca to Darnell Earl Johnson Sr and Christina Jones. DJ started his early education at Ivy Head Start and went on to complete grade school at Martin Luther King. DJ attended Baird Middle School where he went to Bullard High School where he graduated class of 2010.
Throughout DJ's academic career he always showed exceptional skills in athletics all while his school work came first. Darnell's athleticism started at a young age where he took interest in sports such as Basketball, Football, T-Ball as well as Trach & Field. He also played around with the idea of skateboarding where he formed his very own skateboard crew. During his freshman year at Bullard High School DJ played both football and basketball where he continued to excel in Basketball under Coach T. Amunden and Coach Hovig T. Where he eventually received a scholarship to Menio College for basketball where he attended.
Darnell was brought up in the church from the young age of 4 where he began worshiping the lord under the guidance of Pastor JD Adams at St Joseph Missionary Baptist Church. DJ was very involved in the church where he participated in the Voices of Faith choir, praise and worship team, and Usher as he aged. He was moved into the inspirational choir under the direction of Wendy and Ira Waller. DJ always believed in and loved the Lord.
Darnell was a hardworking man with an eye for business. This made all the sense in the world when he pursed the path of entrepreneurship. He started his own demolition company, Jet Ski rentals, DJ Transportaion Service and many other endeavors just to name a few. DJ was devoted, smart, head strong, a go getter, and to many of us, a protector. DJ will indeed be deeply missed and never forgotten. DJ was a loving son, brother, father, and friend; nothing meant more to him than his family, and children. He relished their Love and they all embraced him.
In recent years DJ found a love and passion for riding motorcycles when he spent a good amount of time with the motorcycle club "Full Throttle" of Sacramento, Ca Chapter in which his Father Darnell Sr started and is President of the chapter. DJ enjoyed the different style and design of the bikes but his favorite was the Harley's. DJ looked forward to joining a motorcycle club in which he did just that receiving his colors with the motorcycle club "ALL In Bros MC" out of Sacramento, Ca where he inherited the name "Over Wit".
Darnell was always the life of any party. He would always be the one on the dance floor and you could always count on him to make sure you are having fun and felt safe. He wanted to be sure everyone he encounters had a smile on their face. DJ had a genuine way of showing his love, rather its being someone's body guard and protector he always made sure you knew he had your back and best interest.
Darnell is proceeded in death by John Hullon (Big Shot), Myrna Sherman, Stevie Joe Mack Sr., Janie L.
