Life story

Gene Thrash, Sr was, simply put, an incredible human being. He was kind, thoughtful, selfless, courageous, and loving. In everything he did, his desire to help people was at the forefront, from serving in the Navy, to driving for UPS for 32 years, and later, becoming a school bus driver. In all the things he did, his joy and love for everyone around him shone brightest.

The greatest of all his roles were husband, father, and Pappy. He loved his family fiercely, and was always there with advice, or his toolbox, to offer help when we needed him.

He was eventually dealt the most unfair cards by life, but even then, in the midst of his most difficult moments, his kind heart was never overshadowed.

He is missed, so very much, by every single person who was lucky enough to know and love him. He is especially missed by his wife, their 4 children, and their 12 grandchildren.

He may not be with us physically, but we all carry his joy, love, and selflessness in our hearts and minds. We know how lucky we were to have him, and we are all better for having known and loved him.
