Danielle Boone
"For it matters not, how much we own, the cars…the house…the cash. What matters is how we lived and loved and how we spend our dash."
Priscilla "Danielle" Boone had things pretty much worked out.
The 18-year-old from Darien had graduated May 27 with honors from McIntosh Academy and planned to become a physical therapist to help heal her older sister Beth Herrin, who is handicapped as the result of a 1996 car accident.
But Danielle, as she was called by friends and family, will never have a chance to pursue her dreams of becoming a physical therapist and helping others. In the cruelest irony of all, she was killed in a car accident early Wednesday morning June 25th 2003 on Jekyll Island, where she worked as a lifeguard at Summer Waves water park.
Danielle was the kindest person you could have ever met. She had such a presence about her she always lit up the room. She had a tiny Minnie Mouse voice and a huge smile. 22 years later and her friendship still brings everyone together to honor her memory.
