Life story

Jim was born in Durango Colorado on 3 September 1952 to Bennie and Cordy Valencia. Jim is the second of four children, all boys, born to Bennie and Cordy. Jim grew up and attended school in Ignacio, graduating in 1970. Jim entered the US Army in 1971 and retired in 1992. During this time he married, had three children, and traveled the world.

Today is one year since you started your journey pop. I can only hope you are free of pain and at peace. No words can prepare you to lose your father and your best friend, I have now learned that. Thank you for everything you have done for our family and especially helping me become a man. You always sacrificed for all of us and I would like to thank you. Thank you for helping me with Maya, she adores you. I hope you like your gravesite, we all worked on it to honor your service and personality.
