Life story

Christopher Deshawn Bobo, 24, was born on February 14, 1998 in Sacramento, CA. In 2016, he graduated from Grant High School where he was a 4 yr member of the basketball team and will forever be a Pacer 4 Life. He then went on to take classes at Sacramento State and American River College. Chris worked in retail while also following his passion as a entrepreneur. He worked tirelessly to receive his notary license and opened his own businesses.

Chris was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and enjoyed watching basketball. He loved to collect basketball and football cards, and never missed an opportunity to show them off to friends and family. Chris was a self-proclaimed foodie and was never hesitant to try different foods and attend food festivals.

He was known for his incredible sense of humor. He always found an opportunity to dance like no one was watching. Chris loved so many, and was loved by so many more. His infectious personality always left a lasting impression on anyone he met. He touched a lot of people’s hearts given the short amount of time he was on Earth.

Most importantly, Chris had a deep love for his family, and cherished the time they would spend together traveling, playing games and enjoying family dinners together. He accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior, and he visited various churches with his friends and family.

Chris was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, DIPG, in March of 2017. He fought a courageous 5 year battle. Chris was received into the hands of the Lord on April 2, 2022. As the Apostle Paul stated in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

Chris is survived by his parents Teneka Jones (Robert Jones Jr) and Donte Bobo (Rakisha Bobo); siblings Jordan Bobo, Kyrie Bobo, Robert Jones III and Kamara Hughes; Grandmothers Cynthia Davis, Evelma Morris and Jacqueline Marie Jones; Grandpa Joe Bobo; and Great-Grandmother Patty McGhee. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chris is preceded by Great-Grandmothers Anna Bryson and Clara Mae Cummings(Melvin); Great-Grandpa Robert McGhee; and Grandpa Billy Davis

Chris’ smile lit up every room. He will be greatly missed by family and friends and will forever have a place in our hearts.

Beloved Grandson

Today, I honor my beloved first born grandson Chris, who bravely battled cancer with unwavering courage. His spirit and love touched us deeply, and he will always remain in our hearts. Chris lived his life to the fullest, even when faced with his diagnosis. He taught me the invaluable lesson of perseverance and the importance of never giving up. One of his greatest joys was our weekly family Bible studies, which we cherished together and will cherish for the rest of my life. I Love and miss you so much,Rest in peace, dear grandson Chris. Your memory will forever inspire us. 💙

Good times

Chris was always down for an impromptu road trip or day out anywhere. I remember this time we went on a hike near the Bay Area, it was all fun and games until we saw it was mostly uphill. We went right on back to the car then drove to the easier hiking area and still had great scenic views. He was the type of person that it doesn’t matter what is going on, he is having a good time. I will always cherish the great times we spent together. Chris was truly the kindest, funniest, most charismatic person that everyone wanted to be around. I miss you, I love you, until we meet again ❤️
