What I wish i could have said at moms funeral
It's impossible to think about what unconditional love is, and not immediately picture my mom. Not for one minute of our childhoods did we ever question where our home was. Even as grown ass adults, when we had all grown up and moved out, mom still filled her fridge and her cupboards full enough to keep us fed for years. Mom was our comfort. Our safe place. Our advice when the world was so ugly and we needed that ray of sunshine. Even in those excruciating teen years where no one ever seemed to like each other, we knew mom's door and arms were always open. Mom has such a special relationship with each of us 5, my sister Karley and my brothers Jeremy, Jacob and Justin. But never was one greater than the other. Mom taught us fairness, instilled the value of what it means to be a family, and demonstrated every day how to love and be loved. In raising her children to love each other so fiercely, she would joke right now if she was here that it came back to bite her sometimes. It's really easy to get away with breaking some rules when everyone's in on it and there just happens to be a distraction somewhere else in the house... Or if a vehicle were to go missing and then reappear... it's very hard to blame 1 of 5 when everyone's story was the same.... If any of you have spent any time with mom, doing l i t e r a l y any activity, then you certainly know how prepared she always was. Need a frying pan? Here's 11 sizes to choose from. Headache? Here's a pharmacy. Someone's having a baby? Watch out.. here comes the toys r us truck. Mom loved so big, and so hard. She filled up her cup by helping other people, and rarely expected it in return. Mom was exactly what this world needed. She's gone far too soon, but she put her all into raising 5 people who will love the rest of their lives trying to fill her shoes, and make her proud as hell of what she started.
