Bao was born on May 2, 1963 in Laos. Her father was Xeleng Thao and her mother was Mai Moua. Unfortunately Bao’s mother passed when she was just 2 years old and her father was remarried to Phoua Chang. She has 7 brothers and 5 sisters. In 1981 she married Sao Lue Vang and in 1982 they flew across seas to start their new life America. Bao and her husband reside in California when they arrived to the United States and lived in Sacramento for about 16 years. Bao’s adopted in-laws are Maryellen and Larry Crason who they met through the Baha’i Faith currently resides in California. Bao and her husband have 6 children consisting of 3 daughters and 3 sons: Pangnhia, Zoua, Xiong, Jay, Hlee, and Yumung. Bao has 1 son-in-law John Xiong and 3 daughters-in-law of Chong Her, Lorraine Her, and Sidney, Thao. Bao has 3 graddaughters and 4 grandsons. Her 3 granddaughters are Heavenly, Harmony, and Harlyna. Her 3 grandsons are Seiji, Keiski, Thaelyn, and Stanlee. She loved her family dearly and even though she didn’t have much she gave her whole world for them.

In June of 1998 Bao and her family decided to move across country to Georgia to pursue a better life. She lived in Georgia until her last moments on earth taken away by colon cancer. Although her life was cut short she still lived a beautiful and meaningful life making every moment count filled with so many people that loved and adored her where ever she went. Bao loved to spend her free time outside with nature and with livestock of mostly chickens. She loved to tend to her garden in which she had a passionate love for. Gardening was her pride and joy and that’s where one would mostly find her at. Bao had a wonderful green thumb that would be able to bring anything back to life with the tender love and nurturing of her two constantly hard working hands. She would pick greens from her garden, offer a livestock, or dig in her freezer for some preserved meat for a guest when visiting her because she will never let them leave empty handed. Her selflessness and huge generous heart was well known by many and by those that got the change to cross paths with her. We will deeply all miss her warm and loving presence but her legacy will live on forever.
