Life story

Mathew Lee Stacey was born on February 12,2001. A scheduled Induction on the same date of his Grandpa Dan Stacey’s bday. He was born 6lb 3oz. His middle name was chosen to honour his gpa Leo Kroeplin and his gmas middle name Linda Lee Hollenbeck.

He was a healthy perfect Angel with a bit of dark hair.

As a baby he was so good and learned to talk and walk early and had a lot of energy.

As a toddler he was quit the handful so much energy and into everything.

At 2 years old he always had a mini hockey stick in his hands shooting pucks all over the kitchen, it was his favourite game, which later he would go on to play hockey for Teeswater from 4 years old to 17 years old as his game got cut off early due to too many concussions.

Mathew worked at wattam construction and Wescast in wingham.

Mathew also from very young was a very good video gamer, he loved his PlayStation Games a lot.

When old enough he mentored with his uncle Jeff to get his hunting license, he loved hunting and shot his first deer at the age of 12. He was so proud!!

He looked up to his big brother Joel and loved doing anything with him especially loved going to music concerts together, they shared alot of special memories.

He loved to fish, listen to music and watch scary movies and being with his friends always and to drive. He was so happy to get his license and bought his first car with his own money right away.

Mathew loved playing cards and board games with the family, although he was a poor sport sometimes lol. His favourite vacation spot was in Wasaga Beach with all his family. So many great vacation memories.

He went to Hillcrest Public School Teeswater and then FE Madill Highschool Wingham.

He grew up and lived his whole life in Teeswater.

The Teeswater fair was also very important to Mathew he would never miss one, we had many good memories as a family there.

He was loved by many and is missed by all that knew him.

Mathews life journey was cut short at the age of 22 by a car accident. We will always have wished for a different ending, but he is with us in spirit and in our hearts forever!
