June 13, yard clean up, and Dutch oven
The family reunion is this years at dad’s house. Same day as the 4th of July, You are like me and know that it is going to be a bunch of old people hugging, remembering whose kids are whoes. But in all honesty, we are getting old as well. We (me, Cole, Addie, Trey, Austin, Rylie, and Scout) met at dad’s house and started doing the work. Rowards the end, Austin, Cole, and Trey decided to get some more stuff for the Dutch oven. Pork chops, cheese potatoes, and cobbler. You would have been proud of Austin’s cooking skills (Cole and Trey helped a little) Dad’s yard looks great. Everyone was tired. 8 hours of work, but it was a great time.
Birch Creek Travels
We went on Birch Creek, Trailer Check, camping trip May 22. It was fun. We tried to make it up to the lake past Gilmore, still a lot of snow blocking the road. We ended up heading to the mine. Austin, Rylie, Cole, Violet, and Scout took a tip to the top of a big Mountain. We were able to still see the signatures of the many rides you took with the family a while ago. Added additional names to them. TD brought his girlfriend Hailey. Didn’t get much fishing in, but it was a great start to this summer.
50th Birthday Party for you
This year would have been your 50th birthday. We still you each year that passes, but carry on the tradition of celebrating your birthday as a family. Rylie and Brigham had a great bbq. Many people came. Scott brought his new girlfriend. Just the thought of you turning 50 this year, makes this little sister feel the age creeping up. We still love and miss you. Make sure to wrap your arms around Hiccup. I know you have a love for cats, as putting her down wasn’t that easy, but knowing you were waiting made it a little easier.
Missing the one brother.
Christmas has always been different without you. missing the One and Only brother. When I am driving alone in my car, my thoughts go to you. Wondering if my life would have been different today. We miss you, and always will. Took a camping trip with dad this year. He took a tumble in the Bitch Creek creek. the thought of “do I save me dad, grab his fishing pole, or grab his hat”. But hearing your laughter as I thought of this. I remember the time at Birch Creek. Straddling the Brand New 80, you by my side. trying to get started as we watch dad fishing down below. You asked me if it was in gear. (Probaly not something to ask your little sister, that just learned to ride it) Getting it started, and teving it up, I and the 80 flew though the air, landing next to dad, who hooked a fish, in the creek. I can still get you laughing, but yelling at dad to grab the 80. Dad, debating about pulling in his fish, grabbing his daughter, or grabbing the 80. But knowing you were running the the hill to get the 80, he dropped his pole and grabbed me, (with you getting the 80). Dad survived his tumble, as Rylie and I grabbed his first, but his pole and hate were also saved. We miss you Oliver. so do your many family members.
