Teresa Little Bell
Who was Teresa Bell?
Teresa Bell, wife of Donald Bell, of Harrodsburg, KY, passed away Nov. 26, 2022, of natural causes in her home. Born April 24, 1964, in Trenton, MI, she was the daughter of the late Clent Little and Lenelle (Adams) McNeely of Virgie, KY. She was a Registered Nurse for Good Samaritan Hospital and was a member of the Shakertown Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Samantha (Jeff) Horn of Frankfort, KY; a step-son Cully Bell of Harrodsburg, KY; two granddaughters, Carrie and Cora Horn, a sister, Vanessa (Charlie) Hall of Virgie, KY, a niece Staci (Matt) Ray of Louisville, KY and a nephew, Michael Johnson of Virgie, KY. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kimberly Stephens.
She was a healer
Broken hearts or broken bones, Teresa could heal them all. Nursing was her passion. Not only did she love healing the patients, she was an advocate for her nursing colleagues. She spoke out often about the abuse nurses endured and was always trying to improve their lives.
She was a friend
If you knew her, you knew her smile, her laugh, her love. She was one of a kind and made an impact everywhere she went. It can’t be said any better than the way her soul sister Theresa Crossley put it “she was an amazing friend, that was loyal like no other, a true ride or die.”
She was a Christian
Teresa loved the Lord. She spent the majority of her life in church and was thrilled when she found a little piece of home in Shakertown Baptist Church. She would want you all to be saved so we can all meet her in heaven someday.
She was an adventurer
From a spur of the moment trip to Hershey, PA with Staci and Samantha to her most recent roadtrip with Donald to the Northeast, Teresa loved a good adventure. She would fly by the seat of her pants on these trips, nothing set in stone, always up for a change of plans. They were unique, definitely random, but always fun.
She was family
Nana, Mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, friend. She was proud to be each of these. Her family meant everything to her. If you were hers, she would defend you to the end. As Cully put it “I know to have Teresa in my corner, it felt like I could do anything.”
She was a wife
Donald was her match, her soul mate, her best friend. She loved him and he was the lucky one who got to be with her all the time. Their love was something special.
She was a mom
Not just a mom, but the very best. She was a nurse momma to so many throughout her career. She raised little baby nurses into great healthcare heroes. She was also the most amazing mom to Samantha. She sacrificed so much to make sure she never wanted for anything. She wanted her to always feel loved. She told her to be proud of where you came from and being a daughter of Teresa is something Samantha will forever be proud of. Teresa supported her, protected her, loved her. Teresa taught Samantha how to be a mom.
She was a Nana
This was her most favorite role. In the three short years she got to be Nana, she made them the best. Ice cream dates to Hoggie’s, pumpkin painting, twirling dresses, endless phone calls, glitter everywhere. Carrie was her Nana’s girl and her very best friend. Cora was already in love with Nana and spent hours being rocked and loved.
She was loved.
She was so much to so many. Everything was bigger and better when she was involved. She will be missed but she is not gone. She is in heaven with her daddy, sister, and her favorite pups, Jax and Peaches.
