Tribute to Mom

To know her was to feel loved, understood, and valued. She wasn’t just my mother — she was my teacher, my mentor, my advocate, and eventually my friend. She was the person I could go to for anything - from getting rid of a cold, to how to be a Godly woman, and everything in between. She showed up for everyone and was loved dearly by all. Her heart was extraordinary large, her capacity to love was incredibly deep, and her words were always grounded in wisdom and truth. She laughed with her whole soul. She gave everything she had to her loved ones and rarely asked for anything in return. She was selfless, kind, and empathetic. But never false. She was authentic, passionate, and full of fire. Her red hair was symbolic of her soul - beautiful, fierce, and unique. She was the kind of woman that is unforgettable. I hope to be just like her one day. Even though I miss her every single day, I know she is with Jesus, her greatest love. For as much as she loved and adored her family and friends, her love for God was her strongest and deepest passion. Every conversation she had would inevitably include God’s unyielding love, mercy, and grace. She will always be my role model and I will never stop missing her, thinking of her, and wishing for one more phone call or cup of coffee at the kitchen table. Her absence will be forever missed and her memory etched upon the hearts and minds of those whose lives she influenced.

Dear Mama

You were the person who didn’t give birth to me, but you gave me life. A great part of who I am is because of you. I wish so much that I would have gotten more time with you. 15 years was not nearly long enough and I hope to be even half the person you were. I’m so thankful you got to be my mother. I’ll miss you until we meet again sweet Mama. I’ll love you forever I’ll like you for always As long as I’m living Your baby I’ll be
