Life story

Born September 30, 1927 in Havana, Cuba. With our Lord and savior on March 21, 2013. Arturo worked at the United States Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for 20 years as a Defense Supervisor. He immigrated alone to the United States in 1967 and succeeded in reuniting his entire family to Vacaville in the summer of 1968 where he spent the next 17 years working at American Home Foods. Arturo then retired to dedicate all his time to his family he so loved and tirelessly worked to create. Arturo is survived by the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Aracelis, and his nine children, Taly, Art, George, Ruben, Richard, Kris, Tony, Carmen and Mike; his 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Jose, Guillermo, Joaquin, and sisters, Clarissa and Carmensita. Arturo has always been a loving, giving and compassionate man. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family. His hobbies included carpentry, gardening, watching boxing matches and playing the lottery. Arturo will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity and will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. Our father the “Rock” who we have built our life on and shall continue to be guided by and who shall always be watchful over us. Encouraging us to live our lives to the fullest and never give up even when obstacles seem overwhelming. Our Tio, Pops, Papa, Pipo, Daddy, Grandpa; our “Rock” and shinning beam!
