Life story
Julie was born on March 6th, 1961 in South Dakota to Monica and Jerry Twitchell. She was born on her dad (Jerry) and her Grandfather's (Austin) Birthday, a day they would celebrate together for the next 58 years! When she was just 14 months old, they chose to plant their roots in Southern California. They arrived in California with 1 trunk and 9 Orange Boxes full of their belongings, and $75 in their pocket! Julie had 2 sisters, Jeanie & Jane, and a brother Jack. She was raised in the Catholic Church and received her early Sacraments at St. Marks in Venice, CA. Julie grew up on Ashwood Ave. in Mar Vista and attended St. Mark's Catholic School followed by St. Bernard HIgh School. She took on a job at Hughes Markets and worked their as she attended California State University of Norhridge. Julie received her degree in Business Administration and later was hired on at Qualitest Pharmaceuticals. She worked there for a few years until she met her husband Mike and married on July 15, 1995 at St. Joan of Arc Church. In April of 1996, Julie gave birth to her son Matthew and in April of 1997 she gave birth to twin girls, Morgan and Megan! Julie certainly had her hands full but she couldn't have been happier. Her kids were her pride and joy! Julie was selfless and gave of her time freely and willingly, volunteering most of her time for whatever her kids were involved in. As her kids entered their school years, they were enrolled at St. Jerome's Catholic School. Julie was later hired by the Church where she worked as an administrative assistant until leaving to begin her battle with Alzheimer's. Julie had an infectious personality and accumulated many life-long friends along the way. Her "sisters" Kathy, Paula, Anna-Marie, and Annette were by her side every step of the way. Julie showed unconditional love to all those she met. She had a servant's heart and always wanted to help. There was never a job or task that was too much for her. The word "no" was not in her vocabulary. Julie loved life! She enjoyed endless days at the beach, countless hours at the Bseball and Softball fields where she watched her kids play ball! She loved her summer trips to the Colorado River, Lake Powell, Cabo, and many vacations with her family. She loved the outrigger canoeing family she and her brother were a part of for many years. She was truly the life of the party! Julie loved to cook and entertain. She loved country music, chocolate, and margaritas! She cherished the annual family celebrations and looked forward to Christmas 364 days a year! Julie touch many lives in special ways. She taught us that a genuine smile can brighten any moment. She taught us to love each day and every moment. Julie left this world way too soon! She had so much more life to give and to see grow.
Rest in peace Julie, and know that your legacy lives on in your kids and Grandkids!
