Karen Jacobs
Nothing stays the same.
Karen Jacobs, known affectionately as Morah Chaya, was an outstanding early-childhood educator in Monsey for almost 30 years, touching the lives of countless children and their families with her dedication and passion for teaching. Over her illustrious career, she taught over 500 students, leaving an indelible mark on each one and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Karen was the cherished mother of four children and their spouses, and a doting Savta to 18 grandchildren. Although she passed before becoming a great-grandmother, she now has multiple great-grandchildren carrying her legacy.
A devoted and loving wife, Karen shared nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Jerry. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership, and together they built a family grounded in love, respect, and mutual support. Jerry resides primarily in Florida, surrounded by Karen's vibrant artworks that serve as a daily reminder of her spirit and love.
Karen was also an only child who exhibited remarkable dedication to her family. She lovingly cared for both of her parents (Izzy and Marilyn) until their last days, demonstrating unwavering devotion and compassion.
Beyond her contributions to education, Karen possessed a remarkable artistic talent. Her beautiful paintings grace the homes of her children and her homes in New Jersey and Florida. These works of art are a testament to her creativity and love for beauty, capturing moments of inspiration that will be cherished forever.
Karen's commitment to her community extended beyond her professional life. She was a volunteer with the Chevra Kaddisha, providing support and care in the most humble way. Additionally, she spent countless hours volunteering at various nursing homes and assisted living facilities, bringing comfort and joy to the elderly residents.
Karen's life was a masterpiece of love, dedication, and artistry. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of her family, her many best friends, and the countless students she educated over the years.
May her memory be a blessing.
