“Living the Dream… “Tires are talkin’ shit….. Kick rocks”
If Curt wasn’t the life of the party, he was a keen participant.
He loved Farming, his toys and working hard. From a young age he liked to earn money. He learned to count helping with sweet corn, had a few of his own cows, he bought a trailer to house laying hens and sold eggs and raised chicks to sell as meat birds. Then at 13, he worked milking cows at the Murray Ranch. He liked the work and the shenanigans there. Between his four wheeler and his sled he rarely needed a ride to work. At 15 he had a truck that he stored at grandpas until he could drive.
He liked playing hockey with his buddies in winter and baseball in the summer. When work schedules started to conflict, he chose to work. He worked for Schmidt paving and snow removal, Ernewein farms and Killer before deciding to partner with his dad and together grow and operate Stonegate farms. He always had big plans. He was a solid operator, tractors, trucks, high hoe, Scott felt he could trust him to operate just about anything. Of course he wanted window tinting and decals in the tractors, a big stack and lots of chrome on the highway truck. He got his way some of the time. Big plans, that was Curt.
At 19 he bought the house on Mary Street. He was so proud. He promptly kicked us out at the end of moving day so the house warming could begin. Not all of the neighbours appreciated his ‘celebrations’.
How can we describe him? Strong willed, hard working, goal oriented, sensitive, funny, witty, and quick to joke or have a one liner.
Curt man you are missed by so many , there is a huge hole in our lives without you. We carry you every day in our hearts. Your absence is a HUGE presence.
“Bright lights are never forgotten”.
Continue to watch over us all …. until one day you take our hand to show us the way.
Love you forever 💕
