Etta Lucille Lundy Hester
Etta Lucille was born to Richard Gordon b. 3 Oct 1873 d. 6 Oct 1947 & Frances Elizabeth Hough Lundy b. 3 Feb 1894 d. 12 Oct 1923 both of which along with her brother George Clinton are buried in Ferrill Cemetery located in Escatawpa, Jackson County, MS. Etta d. 14 Feb 1982. Etta was 4 of 6 children, 3 daughters & 3 sons. Her parents married on 19 Dec 1901 in Jackson County, MS. Her mother Frances died when she was 7 years old. Etta married Steve Hester (not Steven, no middle name) on 23 Mar 1932 in Jackson County, MS. Together they had 12 children. Maw Maw made the best seafood gumbo, crab cakes, and potato salad--til today some of us can't eat gumbo without potato salad. Maw Maw loved her flowers and kept her flower beds so beautiful. Unfortunately she died at the young age of 65, she is one of the best people you'd want to know. Devoted to her family and we loved her so much and miss her terribly.
Steve Hester was b. 29 Nov 1900 to Dozier b. 25 Apr 1878 d. 1 Sep 1937 and Lou Cumbest Hester b. 17 Dec 1877 d. 20 Nov 1944. Steve d. 28 Sep 1966. 3 of 9 children, 4 daughters & 5 sons. Paw Paw's occupations include river fisherman, logger and was actually the first boat captain as majority of his sons became Towboat Captains, as has their sons. He carried the letter that was his captain's license for many years in his wallet as it is worn from being folded and carried with him. The letterhead is from MARTIN VENEER CORPORATION, Pascagoula, MS dated 31 Mar 1944; just 2 weeks after his 6th child, his son Mack was born. Paw Paw has grandsons that carry his name and that has been passed on to another generation as well. Etta, Steve, Dozier, Lou, along with other members of his family are buried in Johnson Cemetery, Wade, Jackson County, MS. 3 of their children were cremated, 1 buried in another cemetery, the remaining 7 are buried in Johnson also.
The profile picture is of Etta at approx. 14-16 years of age and the cover photo is Steve with his son Dozier.

Walking to the left back corner from the gate at Johnson cemetery is where you will find Herman.
