Life story

Wayne Thomas Hale, 80, of Quincy Washington left us on April 5, 2024. Wayne passed away peacefully in his sleep while surrounded by loved ones at Samaritan Hospital of Moses Lake, WA.

Wayne was born June 9, 1943 in Tonasket, WA to Mike and Bernadine (Keller) Hale. He would be the first of 7 children. Wayne joined the US Army in 1962 shortly after high school graduation. Soon after, he married the love of his life Judy (Foster) Hale, also of Quincy, WA.

Wayne proudly served in the Army for 24 years before retiring. He spent the remainder of his working years as a public servant working for the Department of Veterans Affairs as a counselor to countless military veterans like himself. After Judy passed in 2019, he moved to Ephrata, WA where he lived with his sister Rita Webb.

Wayne enjoyed country music, hunting, fishing, camping, ATV excursions, but most of all spending time with family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Mike and Bernie Hale, his wife Judy, his sister Agnes Hale, and his brother-in-law and good friend Paul Trevino.

Wayne is survived by his brothers and sisters: Dick, Rita, Jim, Bob, Connie, and Joe. His children Debbie Hale, Mike and wife Lynda Hale, Chris and wife Julie Hale, and Wayne and wife Julie Hale. Also 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Quincy Valley Cemetery on June 7th at 12:00 PM.
