Life story

Stormy May Baker, was tragically taken from us too soon on Friday, July 12, 2024, at just 26 years old. Born on May 23, 1998, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of Christopher Bryan Baker and Christine Marie Zakio Hill. Stormy wasn't just a forklift operator at Champion Laborities - she was an artist of life, painting every moment with her incredible spirit. The way she loved her nieces and nephews was something magical. Her entire world revolved around those kids, and her eyes would light up brighter than stars whenever they were around.

Stormy had this contagious smile that took over her face and could turn a bad day good. She was the kind of person that always included everyone -making them feel like they truly mattered. Stormy never met a stranger and was quick to make friends. She lived with such passion, such pure, uncontrollable love that it was impossible not to be swept up in her energy. Her kindness wasn't just a trait - it was her superpower.

To us, Stormy wasn't just a family member - she was the rock of our family, and always there whenever you needed her most. The world feels dimmer without her radiant smile, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

We will miss you more than words can ever express, Stormy. Your love was a gift we'll treasure always.

Stormy is survived by her parents, Christopher Bryan Baker and Christine Marie Zaiko Hill; her siblings, Kenneth Lee Ripley (Lacey Horton), Drake Anthony Baker and Ethan Daniel Riley Baker; grandparents, Anthony Wesley (Karen Lee) Zaiko Jr., and Kat Zaiko Zinne Fiest; aunts and uncles, Glynn (Vickey) Baker, Gidget (Dale) Connor, Kimberly (Chrys) Zaiko, Anthony Zaiko III, Jessica Jager, Kelly Zinnie and Jeffery Zinnie; nieces and nephews, Karter, Gunner, Adrianne, Cooper Ripley and Benjamin Baker. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Rebecca Sue Baker; and great-grandparents, Harold and Bernice Baker.

A letter I hope you get!

Dear May May I hope this letter finds you in peace. As I sit down to write this, my heart feels heavy with the weight of your absence. It's hard to believe how much time has passed since you left us, and yet it feels like just yesterday you were here, sharing in our lives and the joy of our family This year has been filled with so many special moments, and not having you here to celebrate them has left a void that can never be filled. Cooper's first birthday came and went without your laughter and love. Adrianne turned six, and I couldn't help but think of how you would have spoiled her with hugs and gifts. Gunner's eighth birthday was bittersweet, as we reminisced about the fun times you shared with him We've also navigated through the first day back to school, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas without you. Each occasion felt incomplete, as we missed your spirit and the warmth you brought to our family gatherings. You also misses what would have been Kenny and your 1 year anniversary at Champion. As we approach New Year's, I find myself reflecting on all the memories we created together, and it’s hard to imagine celebrating without you Please know that we have included you in every way we could. Your memory lives on in our hearts and in the stories we tell the kids. We share your love and lessons with them, ensuring they know how special you were and how much you meant to all of us I miss you dearly, and I hope you are watching over us as we continue to navigate this life without you. I love you Stormy May! -With all my heart Lacey
