A text with his daughter….
Expressing his love for Sherry!
A thrist to learn and live!
Leo was a Son, Cousin, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandpa and Great Grandpa, in the Navy Reserve, a friend, fisherman, hunter, craftsman, tradesman, a Church goer, a great thinker, an organizer, gardener, bread maker, fish fryer, and traveler. Sixty-two years ago he built the house where he and his wife Sherry of 68 years resided. That was his pride and a representation of his hard work. Leo was not one to be in the limelight and a hypocrite he was not. You could hear him debate any topic while representing facts and his volume of knowledge. He was a passionate fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and University of Illinois. He treasured his family, Church, fishing and hunting cronies. When someone needed help he would be the one to repair anything! At the same time he could captivate you with his stories and laugher! His passion for gardening was explosive! His green thumb would make any vegetable, plant or flower be filled with an eagerness to bloom. Leo was not one to sit around but one who made things happen. With his mind and hands, ideas would come to fruition. His intellect was high and his spirit luminous and I am glad he is my dad!
