Honoring the Lives of Thomas & Virginia Diedeman
Thomas: December 1, 1925 – August 13, 2014
Virginia: April 5, 1928 – May 30, 2021
Thomas and Virginia Diedeman were a true partnership—bound by a long marriage, a shared faith in God, and a deep devotion to their family.
As educators, they dedicated their lives to their community. Virginia was a passionate schoolteacher with a love for the orchestra, while Tom, a military veteran and former marching band trumpet player, went on to become the respected principal, fondly remembered by generations of students as "Pop Diedeman."
They were the proud parents of three children (two daughters and one son) and the anchors of a large, loving family. Their home was a sanctuary of kindness, famous for its annual Thanksgiving feasts. From sunny afternoons swimming at Poe Springs to sharing back-to-back April birthday celebrations with family, they filled their grandchildren’s lives with unforgettable memories. Evenings at their house were spent reading Uncle Remus stories, watching The Sound of Music, or enjoying The Lawrence Welk Show and Jeopardy.
Tom and Virginia were also avid world travelers. A giant map on their wall, dotted with pins, tracked their global adventures, and they always returned with pictures and beautiful souvenirs in the form of vases and other trinkets.
Active in their church and always putting God first, Tom and Virginia taught their family the true meaning of kindness. They leave behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of their relatives forever.
