Life story

Michael Landrum Jr., “Little Mike,” age 31, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in Picayune, Mississippi.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he continued dedicating his life to protecting others. He worked as a Sheriff’s Deputy with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department for two years before furthering his career as an ICE agent with the New Orleans division, where he served for the past eight months.

Above all, Michael was a devoted father. He adored his five daughters and was a truly loving daddy. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his girls. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always smiling, always joking, and cherishing every moment with those he loved.

His hobbies included working on cars, riding four-wheelers, fishing, and going to the shooting range. He was always up for a new adventure. Michael never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need.

He shared a special bond with his Uncle Frank, who was not only family but also his best friend. Michael loved animals, especially his dog, Molly May. While patrolling the county, he never failed to find a stray dog to share his lunch with.

Michael lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Jason and Gertie Adams, Myles and Juanita Buras, and Prentice and Alyce Landrum; and his grandfather, Jessie Buras Sr., “Jimmy.”

Left to cherish Mike's memory are numerous family members, friends, and coworkers.
