Born on January 17, 2009, in Winter Park, Florida, Eduardo Luis Duarte was a vibrant 17-year-old whose life was a beautiful tapestry of love, kindness, and big dreams. The beloved son of Carlos and Yaraddie, Eduardo’s life was deeply shaped from the age of four by the devoted presence and guidance of his step-parents Daniel and Mayli. He was raised to be a young man who was as noble in spirit as he was ambitious in heart.
The oldest of three brothers on this mother's, he shared a deep bond with Adrian and Lucas. He was equally cherished as the youngest on his father’s side. Being the youngest of the Duarte siblings he was loved, babied and spoiled by his sister Ana who he lovingly called "Tata" and Juanqui. At home, Eduardo was known for his gentle and playful character; he was a thoughtful young man who naturally avoided conflict, preferring to spread peace and warmth. Though he was humble and often unaware of it, his quiet acts of kindness left a massive impact on everyone he met.
His passions and ambitions were a reflection of his drive:
The Athlete & Fan: An avid soccer player, Eduardo was a force on the field, playing both defense and midfield. It was from the center of the pitch that he truly shined, possessing a unique "vision of the game" that allowed him to see plays before they happened. Off the field, he was a "Real Madrid fan" who also admired the history of Manchester United, a huge basketball fan, and a dedicated FIFA, Fortnite, Clash Royale and Rocket League player.
The Outdoorsman & Student: He enjoyed the time he shared with friends while fishing. Most recently, had discovered a new discipline in weight lifting. Pushed toward academic excellence, he responded with dedication, matching his athletic drive with success in the classroom.
The Visionary: Driven by a selfless love for his family, Eduardo dreamed of achieving economic independence through day trading and real estate. His ultimate goal was to retire his mother, father, and stepparents, ensuring they were cared for as they had cared for him.
The Romantic: Eduardo was a young man with a clear heart, already planning to start a family at an early age. He knew with certainty that his girlfriend, Isabella, was "the one," and he treated her with the honor and respect of a queen.
Eduardo had a legendary appreciation for good food. He was a fan of Wingstop, steak, and his mother’s rice and beans, and he especially enjoyed Danny’s pasta and coffee. Over time, he grew to love Colombian cuisine and had recently begun venturing into the kitchen himself, discovering a very early passion/need for cooking. Though his time was tragically short, the noble spirit and kindness he showed will live on in the hearts of the many who loved him.
The Friend:Beyond his many talents, Eduardo was defined by a magnetic, easy-going nature that made everyone around him feel at ease. He was the kind of friend who moved through the world with a gentle spirit and a genuine smile, naturally drawing people in with his calm and approachable presence. His actions of kindness spoke volumes, leaving a lasting mark on the hearts of all who were lucky enough to call him a friend.
Your mother trusted me to be in your life from an early age. I took this as one of the
most sacred labors I had been given and entrusted. I have loved you, and will love you
always. I strived to show you how to be the the best version of your self that you could
be as a son of God, who was called for great things. I am honored to have shared so
many moments, and memories.
As I saw you grow, I prayed every night for God to help me get through your ears, and
your mind, all I wanted always was to protect you and see you triumphant. Your aches
and sorrows I shared. I hated the idea of you being hurt, disappointed, or impacted by
the reality of our cruel world. I wanted to keep you in a bubble, and keep you safe. You
will not understand it, as your life has come to a sudden stop. I could not wait for you to
be a father one day, so you could truly see, and realized the reason behind my
decisions.
You have NO IDEA how much I valued that you always found it in your heart to trust me.
Even when you struggled, and were challenging, you eventually came around and
followed the instruction. You came and always opened up. I was the person you came
to with your pains, and it was hard to treat your muscular injuries, cause GOSH you
were loud and dramatic. But I am blessed to have always been Able to bring you
comfort.
This week, has been an experience, that none prepared me to handle. But our GOD,
has shown Himself in so many ways.
I told you I was proud of you. This week, the stories I have gotten to hear, filled my heart
with joy, and more pride, and peace. It turns out that you DID LISTEN!!! That my words
were not in vain, that our butting of heads, and my repetitiveness, and DRAGGING
THINGS OUT, was worth it, cause everyone, EVERYONE, my EDU has been a witness
of your integrity, your character, your noble heart as we knew it from the very early
stages of life. You projected into the world our instruction to you. You projected Jesus.
Your dreams did not have enough time to be fulfilled, I have wrestled with my God in
prayer, and can’t find the answer to this question we all ask today
I am not sure how I am going to sit down to watch another soccer game. Now the rivalry
is even, only 2 Madridistas left. I am going to miss dearly your facial expressions every
time you ate something we had prepared for you. “Mi Gente” I am not going to see you
get big and muscular. You probably knew this, but you were already stronger than me,
you just did not realized it, and had not trained your muscles. I saw your determination
to focus this past 2 weeks, and I also found pride on that.
I promise, that I will continue to be here for you MOM, and your brothers. I will Not let
your life to be forgotten, and you will continue to make an impact in our world.
Too soon you have been called to REST, worry no more my boy, Wonder no more,
sleep in peace, your family will see you soon, and it will be for eternity. No more tears,
no More pain, no more sorrow. Come soon my Jesus!!!
