Life story

Loïc was a vibrant young man with a heart as big as the northern sky. He was confident, caring, and one of the most generous people you could ever meet. He always made us laugh and always made sure everyone around him was having fun. He was ready for any shenanigans and could turn an ordinary moment into a memory.

♡♡♡♡

Loïc had a special way of making everyone feel welcome with his positive energy. His gift for making people smile was unmatched. Loïc could change the mood of an entire room simply by walking into it. He was patient, curious, and never afraid to try new things. He could talk to anybody and had a way of connecting with people. He was proud of who he was. He was not only a friend, but also a mentor.

♡♡♡♡

Loïc had a profound love for his sister, Kelsey, his parents, Nancy and Eric, and his family. He had a special group of friends who stood by him through the good times and the bad. He cherished the people in his life and always found thoughtful ways to show how much they meant to him. He even had the best gift ideas, always knowing just what would make someone feel special.

♡♡♡♡

He never settled for anything; he always went for the best.

♡♡♡♡

Loïc was born October 17, 2004, on a perfect hunting day.

♡♡♡♡

He loved riding his side-by-side, spending time with friends, playing cribbage, lifting weights, swimming, listening to loud music, and hunting (though only if it meant a quick trip).

He had a passion for machines both small and big; he liked his "boy's toys." He played hockey and was a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

♡♡♡♡

He had an entrepreneurial streak, always thinking of new ways to make money. He had to keep everything clean and organized. His room never had clutter, and even his wardrobe was color-coded with evenly spaced hangers.

♡♡♡♡

He had a taste for good tequila. If you ever have the chance to try Clase Azul tequila, ring the bell and take a shot in his honor. Please share a picture under the tribute tab.

Loïc worked in trades, working hard to level up his life and become the man he envisioned. Loïc began working in the mining industry at 18, believed to be one of the youngest employees to join the team at Côté Gold. He was a young, passionate miner whose dedication and pride in his work went far beyond his years. From mobile maintenance to mine operations, Loïc truly loved his job and the crew he worked with. He also found some interest in construction work with P&J Gelinas Enterprise Inc from 2020 to 2025. On his home-shift turnaround, he worked in construction from Hearst to Moosonee, putting in long hour alongside his dad. He always wanted to learn new things.

HIS LAUGH, HIS LAUGH, HIS LAUGH — it's missed so much.
