Bradley “O.J.” James Hayes, 45, Park Rapids, MN passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
O.J. was born May 3, 1980 to James and Marcella (Ness) Hayes in Park Rapids. He grew up in Park Rapids and graduated with the class of 1999. After living in Duluth and St. Cloud, he returned to the Park Rapids area and was self-employed as a carpenter/builder for 25 years.
O.J. enjoyed fishing, deer hunting in Gonvick, going to concerts, and attending special occasions with his family. He especially loved spending time with his 4 kids. O.J. loved all people and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was happy to help and always had a smile on his face.
O.J. is survived by his children, Mason, Kolter, Shailyn and Wyatt Hayes of Park Rapids; his father, Jim (Carly) Hayes of Park Rapids; his siblings, Emily (Kyle) Medearis of Baker, MT, Adam (Jeana) Hayes of Hill City, SD; his significant other, Kris Otterson of Park Rapids; 8 nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Marcy Hayes; grandparents, Dick and Addie Ness, Bud and Iris Hayes
