“The ocean’s tide may carry you away, but your love remains anchored in our hearts.
Life story
Michael was an adventure seeker at heart, always chasing the thrill in life and finding joy in the simple moments along the way. He had a deep love for the water, where he felt most at peace—whether he was fishing or simply watching the tide roll in. But more than anything, he loved being a father to his daughter, Myla Mae, who was truly the light of his life.
He had a rare gift for connection—able to strike up a conversation with anyone and quickly turn a stranger into a friend. Michael was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He was a loyal friend, a devoted brother and son, and a truly wonderful father whose love ran deep and unconditional.
Though your smile is gone forever, and your hand we cannot touch, still we have so many memories of the one we loved so much.
Today we celebrate YOU. Mary who brought me such a great love in my life. A Mom who loves so deep and brought into this world a life that brought so much love, laughter, and light.
I’ll be sharing a few of these if it spreads love and light and a little laughter like he did.
This photo is from our second date… a moment that started a story I will always cherish. Of course we shared a few days of awkward conversations on tinder and a first date down in KW on duval. But this was the second time we hung out and I got to see the real Mike. Kayaks, and teaching me my first casts of real fishing. I think I took this photo on snap chat, and said something to my friends like “uhoh this one’s fun” and what an adventure I got with him.
Happy Mother’s Day to an incredible mom who raised a son that left such a lasting impact on so many people. I’m so grateful for the memories we shared with him — fishing, laughing, and all the simple moments we all spent together that I’ll always hold close. He had a memorable spirit, and brought so much light to the people around him. I know days like today can carry both love and heartbreak, but I hope it brings some comfort knowing how deeply he is missed and how much he meant to so many of us. Thinking of you today and sending you love
Mama Mary,
I told you that was my brother and that you’d be stuck with me for life, luckily my little sister understood the assignment and reached out to me when she started this whole thing. I’ve got too many stories to just “post a tribute” to Mikey, so instead I’m gonna post individual photos with stories behind each of them and I’ll leave them here and there so you’ve got little things to find. I hope you have a great Mother’s Day with Brett and Dani and hopefully appearences by Myla Mae and Carver.
This picture is from mikes birthday at the end of 2021. This group was a family, one Mike opened up to me almost immediately once I arrived in the keys. It was a solid group of past and present coworkers. A majority of nights were spent in some variation of this group of people and truly once we lost Michael it was never the same. This is a table full of nothing but love for him and we still carry that today.
Love you,
Your Masshole Son
