"When you dream, dream big. As big as the ocean blue. Cause when you dream it might come true, so when you dream, dream big." - Ryan Shupe & the Rubberbands. A song he sang to his little girls, as a life motto for them.
Life story

Dana Austin Ebel was born September 21st, 1978 in Plentywood, Montana to Dwight and Lane (Lee) Ebel. As a little boy, Dana was very active, adventurous and even then always had an infectious smile. He developed a love for sports and tried them all, but ultimately had a love for basketball, baseball and golf. Dana was a three year starter for the Williston Coyotes Basketball team and also played baseball for the Williston Keyboards. Along with loving to play, he also loved to coach. He coached little league baseball and also coached basketball. Dana made many of his close friendships through sports and remained good friends with many of them to this day.

Dana also took to parenting like it was meant to be, starting at the young age of 18 with the birth of his first daughter Jocelyn. From the moment he laid eyes on her he was completely devoted to that little girl. They were inseparable and did everything together.

In May of 2000, Dwight called Dana and asked him to come into business with him. It had always been Dana's lifelong dream to be in business with his dad, whom he admired greatly. A few years later, Dana's brother Damian came into the business as well. After adding a couple more business partners they formed Ebel Integrators. Dana had an entrepreneurial spirit and gave all he had to that business. They ended up selling the company in 2014 and Dana began working with Complete Technologies, in the same field of work as before.

In 2003, Dana married his soulmate and love of his life, Feliciti. Dana and Felicity were in love from the very first date and knew they would be together forever. They were hopelessly devoted to each other throughout their marriage and loved to laugh together, go on dates, and talk for hours and hours. Their little family of three grew as God blessed them with three more girls for daddy to love on and spoil; Annabelle, Olivia and Gracie. He would take each of them on daddy/daughter dates, out hunting, riding bike, rollerblading, to the park and out for ice cream. Dana was also very musical and loved to sing and play guitar to his girls. He had always secretly prayed for a son, but was completely content with the four beautiful daughters that he had already been blessed with. Then on May 15th, 2014, Dana finally got his son, Brody Austin. Dana just couldn't believe it. He now had a son to teach how to ride a bike, to hunt, to fish, shoot hoops, swing a bag and throw a curveball. There was not a day that went by that Dana did not say "I just cannot believe God gave me a son!"

As much as Dana loved and adored his family, there was one he loved and adored above all else, and that is his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Dana had a heart for ministry, and every day he was waiting on the Lord to give him direction. He had such compassion and a love for people and wanted them all to know about God's saving grace and peace that it offers. Dana was baptized this past year and took his walk with the Lord very seriously. He was always studying God's Word and sharing it with his family and others.

Dana was an amazing man with a smile that lit up the room and a hearty laugh. He inspired most everyone he came in contact with, in one way or another. If there were ever a life lived to the fullest, it was Dana's. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will leave a gaping hole in our lives that only the Lord our God can fill.

Dana is survived by his wife, Feliciti; daughters, Jocelyn, Annabelle, Olivia, Gracie, and son, Brody; parents, Dwight and Luane Ebel; brother, Damian Ebel and wife Angie, and their sons, Dawson, Dominic and Dalton; sister, Thea Holter and husband Aaron and their children, Carson and Maggie; sister, Kara Benson and husband Anthony and their children, Asher and Oakley; grandmother, Lillian Ebel; his mother and father-in-law, John and LeeAnn Seil; sister in law, Kylee (Nathan) Ybarra; and brother-in-law, Ryan Seil.

Dana is preceded in death by his Grandfather Herman Ebel, Grandfather Bennie Lee, Grandmother Alice Lee, Uncle Duane Ebel and cousin, Scott Christiansen

Making music for my dad🖤🎶

Something my dad and I always shared was making music together. He used to randomly come home with piano books for me or music equipment. Lately I’ve been thinking he’d be so excited that I married someone who can help me produce my own music; my dad always wanted to get me the software to be able to do that, so now whenever I make something I always have him in the back of my mind and wonder what he would think of it all. I know he’d be really excited and fascinated by the music Karson and I make together🖤

Brought flowers to daddy’s grave today with my sisters ❤️

I’m not sure how to feel being almost a senior now coming here. I feel like it was just yesterday and also a lifetime ago that I got to see my daddy’s smiling face. I remember as a kid when I used to leave him notes before I went to bed for him to see before he left for work the next morning. I would get so excited to wake up to see the note he left me for the day. I think about that often and am so glad I get to have his words to me saved and written on paper in his handwriting. I miss him so much😞

Adding the Turning Hearts Code 🩷

Gracie & Annabelle came to town this weekend to watch Carson play baseball. They had planned to place flowers at Dad’s grave, so I thought it was a good time to add the QR code. There’s parts of every day, and of every family gathering that still feels crazy that Daddy is not here. He would have loved to watch Carson play ball this weekend, he loved every meal grandma made, and he would love to see us girls all grown up staying up late talking and laughing as adults now. It’s been 9.5 years but there’s still such a gap in every memory, knowing he was the kind of person who made every memory & day better just by being who he was, and holding space in the room. We love you so much daddy 🩷 I can’t wait to see everyone’s memories, and have a collective place to remember you.
