Irene was our beautiful little fighter who showed us just how much love and strength could fit inside such a tiny body.
Born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and later diagnosed with PIK3CA-related overgrowth spectrum, Irene spent her life fighting courageously at Driscoll Children’s Hospital, where room 315 became her first home.
But Irene was so much more than her diagnoses. She was our sassy baby girl with the most beautiful eyes, unforgettable side-eyes, and a personality that touched everyone who met her.
Although we only got to hold her in this life for a little over two months, Irene gave us a lifetime of love.
Her story will continue to be told. Her name will continue to be spoken. And her little life will continue to make a difference.
