Thomas Diener
Remembering a Life Dedicated to Others
Thomas “Tom” Diener of Sheboygan lived a life defined by love, service, and an unwavering commitment to protecting others. While Tom was deeply respected as a firefighter, paramedic, and community servant, those closest to him knew that his greatest pride and joy came from the people he loved most — especially Elise and his family.
Tom proudly served as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Oshkosh Fire Department and as a Lieutenant with the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department. He dedicated his life to helping others in their moments of greatest need, earning admiration for his calm leadership, compassion, and steady presence. Beyond the fire service, Tom was also a co-owner and founder of Sheboygan Warning Systems, where his work focused on installing and maintaining emergency warning sirens that helped protect communities throughout the Midwest. His passion for public safety extended far beyond his uniform and reflected his lifelong desire to serve and safeguard others.
Though Tom accomplished so much professionally, the heart of his life was the love he shared with Elise, his family, and his friends. Those who knew Tom saw the deep devotion he carried for the people closest to him. He cherished time spent with loved ones, valued loyalty and togetherness, and had a way of making everyone around him feel supported and cared for. His love for Elise was evident in everything he did, and his bond with his parents, Gary and Eileen, his brother Andrew, and his extended family was a constant source of strength and pride.
Tom will be remembered not only for his courage and dedication to public service, but for his kindness, generosity, humor, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the communities he helped protect, and the love he gave so freely to family and friends.
This Turning Hearts Medallion honors Tom Diener — a devoted son, brother, partner, firefighter, paramedic, business owner, and friend whose life continues to inspire through service, compassion, and love.
