My sweet girl, not a day goes by that I do not think of you. I miss your smile, your laugh, your presence, and the way you made people feel loved. I carry you with me in everything I do. Destiny was more than my daughter, she was my light. She had a calm and nurturing spirit that naturally drew people to her. She had a way of making others feel seen, loved, and safe. Children and animals were naturally drawn to her, and she carried a kindness that could ease stress and bring comfort without even trying.
On July 18, 2021, Destiny’s life was taken far too soon while she was waiting for food at a taco truck in Phoenix, Arizona. While her life was stolen, her impact was not. Her story continues to reach hearts and inspire change.
In honor of Destiny, I created Our Destiny Our Future Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to continuing her legacy through scholarships, supporting families in need, helping children in foster care, and advocating for violence prevention and justice.
Although our hearts carry unimaginable grief, Destiny continues to live through every life touched, every act of kindness, every scholarship awarded, and every person who chooses compassion.
Justice for Destiny is not just a movement, it is a promise that her life mattered and that she will never be forgotten.
