Carol Annette Marr
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
Carol Marr was the loving wife and eternal soul mate of Barry F. Marr. She was a devoted mother to BJ (and his wife Traci) and to Derek, and a "Gram extraordinaire" to Addison, Lucas, Max, Dash and Rip. She was close to her family, including her mother, Judy Simpson, and her sister, Kristy Davis (Todd), all of Greensburg, Kentucky. Her father, Boyce Simpson, went before her. There were never two sisters closer than Carol and Kristy.
Carol made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of OneSong church in Bowling Green. She served her church in many ways, and found none more satisfying than teaching the children in Sunday School. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and said she was not afraid to die.
Carol loved to watch her sons play sports, and she cheered on her grandchildren in the same way. She loved to travel and was co-pilot and navigator on her husband's many adventures. Together they visited all fifty states. Nebraska was the last one, and she made it happen with a quick trip to Omaha. They also traveled to Canada, Australia, France, Ireland and Iceland. One of her favorite memories was driving a manual-transmission car on the wrong side of the road in Ireland. More recently she took a cruise with her close friend Jennifer and added Mexico and Belize to her list.
Carol had many friends. Paula, Robin, Diane and Margaret were especially dear to her and were her "go to" people when times were tough. A village of more than 900 people, called Carol's Crusaders, prayed for her and supported her family through her five-year battle with illness. Carol went to her eternal home on April 29, 2025, at the age of 63.
