Larry David Pickard

Larry served in the armed forces. We honor that service here.
Larry was second son born to Harold & Rose (Tanner) Pickard. His siblings were Don and Karen and grew up on family farm south of Vona, CO
Larry’s love of sports began at an early age. He excelled in sports at Vona High School lettering in football, basketball, and baseball, graduating with both football and basketball scholarships. He played football for the CSU Rams and graduated with a degree in Ag Economics in 1968.
Larry married Linn Pelton in 1967 and after coaching for one year at Vona High School he began farming with his father and brother Don. They formed Pickard Farms Inc.
Larry and Linn’s family began with Sydney, 1976, and Wade, 1980.
Larry later formed LDP Farms and expanded his operation. His unexpected death by heart attack at 49 took him away from his family and occupation much too soon!
He was tireless in his service to his community and served in the Colorado Air National Guard for 6 years.
The community joined the family and extended family in mourning his loss.
