“"Do what you know to do, don't do what you know not to do"
Life story
Micheline’s greatest joy and deepest pride were the family she loved so fiercely. She is survived by her beloved children, Heather (Ian), Angelique, Morgen, Shane, Brittany, and Summer, who were truly the center of her world. She often called them her greatest loves, later joking that they had replaced themselves when they gave her the gift of becoming a Nana.
She was a devoted and adoring Nana to Aubrey, Harper, Cora, Ella, Avalon, Ocean, Izzy, James, and Sloan, cherishing each of them beyond measure and pouring her heart into creating memories that felt like magic. Every holiday was made special by her presence, and even the simplest days were touched by her love—often through small, thoughtful gestures that reminded those around her they were always on her mind.
Micheline is now reunited with her cherished grandsons, Ethan and Asher, and is surely getting to cuddle them once again.
For over four decades, Micheline devoted her life to sobriety—not only her own, but to guiding others toward a life of healing and renewal. She was both a dedicated sponsor and a trusted mentor, walking alongside countless individuals as they found their way out of darkness and into strength. With unwavering compassion and quiet determination, she became a steady light for those who needed it most.
She was the founder of Recovery in Action, a sober living facility built on accountability, dignity, and hope. She also created a sober living tea house, offering a safe and welcoming space for connection, reflection, and community. Micheline was a creator of safe spaces—a remarkable legacy for a woman who grew up without one of her own.
Her passion for recovery was not just something she practiced—it was something she lived, every single day. Through her guidance, love, and belief in others, Micheline changed lives, restored families, and created a lasting path for those seeking sobriety.
She gave everything of herself to others and asked for very little in return. She taught her children that the most meaningful gifts are pieces of yourself—something cherished, something real—offered to the world with love.
Micheline was the heart and soul of her family, and even now, her presence can still be felt in the spaces she once filled.
Her legacy lives on in every life she touched.

Not a day goes by where I don’t reach for my phone to call you . Where I don’t hear your voice.
What I wouldn’t give to hug you one more time.
To hear another story, to play 1 more game of dummy.
STF, you taught me so much about life.
I never imagined doing this with out you .
🩵
STF prayed for me before ever meeting me in person. She lived the life she taught, she walked her talk. When I first arrived on her deck, I was a broken, lost and scared woman, who didn’t understand how to come back from the years of addiction. STF would often say that in those early days, I didn’t even look anyone in the eyes, as I felt less than in many ways.
With the encouragement, support and love I received from STF and Fire Clan, I was able to find my voice again. I was allowed a safe space to heal, to explore who I was supposed to be, and begin the path of becoming her. If it weren’t for that opportunity, I would not be where or who I am today, and I am fairly convinced I would have died out there.
I love you, SUN THUNDER FLOWER. I will do my best to continue to live the vision, and do what is in my power to help that to happen. I will try my hardest every day to live in a way that honors your teachings, and the way we are meant to live. Thank you for visiting me in my dreams, and sending me reminders that you are still with us.
I met you for the first time in 2013, I was broken spiritually and physically ....I lived at Kokopelli for 9 months, and those 9 months were some of the hardest, but the most cherished months of my life. STF taught me so much about a spiritual way of life and how to have lasting sobriety and emotional sobriety. I will forever be grateful for sitting in circle with her, for her opening a safe space for me and so many others. Her children, and grandchildren were blessed with such a beautiful Mom and Nana, and my prayers are with all of you as you learn to navigate life without her physical self being here....this all has been so surreal . When showing up for her celebration of life, I still expected her to walk through that front door, and to give me a big hug, but when I realized that she wasnt going to walk through that door, my heart sank. But the truth is, she is with all of us in spirit . She's with us when the wind blows, the flowers blooming, the rain and thunder, her legacy lives on. I love you and miss you so much Mikie 💔💔💓💓
I am still struggling knowing you’re gone.
I reach for the phone to share something with you and am reminded, I see your car my heart drops, I drive down the dirt road and remember you won’t be there to hug.
When I’m there I pretend you’re just in the other room.
I talk to you often , I feel you everyday.
Sun Thunder I am so grateful to have had the honor and privilege to know you, to walk with you, to learn from you.
I love you beyond words, and know you are there in everything , the hawks that fly, the wind that blows, the flowers the fire , I feel you with me .
I love you
She created a big beautiful family who I got to grow up with, raise my children with, who supported us through some our most trying times and I will be forever grateful for. Sisters, brothers, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, papas and a Nana like no other. For almost 35 years, she has been a consistent second mom, providing a safe space to escape in my teenage years, helping me birth my first child, and opening her doors while I learned my new normal of being a mom of 2 boys at 20 years old. She always had gifts for my kids on holidays and included them in kids camp. She has and will always be guiding light to turn to in the darkest moments
I struggle with how to say goodbye. So I don’t, and to this day I still pour a cup of coffee and talk to you about the plants. You’re quieter now, and you agree with everything I say but we spend our mornings together every day now❤️
One of the things that I admire the most about My Mother was her ability to create safe spaces for others when she herself came from a place where she didn’t have a safe space🤍
Katheryn LouksMikey was an unbelievable woman, truly one of a kind. In my worst possible moment she was there for My son after an overdose that nearly killed him. Nobody could take him , he had no support system but Mikey took him and saved his life. Strangely enough I ended up coming to recovery in action as a graduate in substance abuse counseling and was embraced and Employed by her amazing family and co-works .. nearly five years later I’m still here. I will never forget What a wonderful and powerful, inspiring woman she was. I hear you in the thunder Mikey, now and always. .
