Dennis Bryan Fortney
The most important thing in life is Faith in Jesus and love of family and friends.
I have made this for Dennis my husband the love of my life. We had 40 years of adventure together and I miss him so much every day. He will always be in my heart. He was a good man. Dennis was born in Ft Dodge Iowa to Dorothy (Grazier) and Donald Fortney. His father was a pilot in the Air Force, and he grew up in Spokane Washington and then Atwater California. He graduated from Atwater Highschool, was an avid athlete playing football basketball and Baseball. In 1966 he married Karen Collins and they had 2 sons Kevin and David. He became a police officer in 1971 for Riverside California, was divorced and later in 1985 married Marbridget. Dennis retired in 1990 and he and Bridget built a home and lived in Serene Lakes up on Donner Summit for a number of years, where he became an avid cross-country skier, he skied Royal Gorge every day in the winter and roller skied all summer, he also was an avid water skier, he taught many to water ski and good memories were made down on the Parker Strip in Arizona. They moved to Arizona near his brother Don and Dennis decided to return to school and become a nurse. He was a nurse for 10 years and retired again. He got into the sport of CrossFit and continued until his Parkinsons became to disabling. Bridget and Dennis had 40 years together before Parkinsons took him away from all of us. He was also a grandfather and great grandfather and is missed by all.
