Life story

Our Jack ❤️

Jack came into this world 10 weeks early, on the 5th of March 2006. From the very beginning, he showed us just how strong he was. He may have arrived into the world earlier than expected, but there was never anything ordinary about our Jack.

There were only 14 months between Jack and his big brother James, so the two of them grew up side by side. They were brothers, best friends, partners in crime and, like all brothers, they had their fair share of arguments too. But underneath all the messing, winding each other up and rows was a bond that was so strong. They shared a childhood full of memories, laughter and moments that will stay with James forever.

From a young age, Jack had a personality all of his own. He was full of energy, full of mischief and always seemed to have something to say. He had a cheeky side that could drive you mad one minute and have you laughing the next. Jack was the kind of person who could make a room come alive. His smile was one of the first things people noticed about him, and once he smiled, you couldn't help but smile yourself.

Jack was funny without even trying. He had a natural ability to make people laugh, and he loved the craic. He loved being around people and was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He was outgoing, kind-hearted and would help anyone who needed him.

But behind that big personality was a young man with a huge heart.

Jack and his mam ❤️

Jack and his mam, Evelyn, shared a very special bond.

He was, without a doubt, a proper mammy's boy. Of course, they had their arguments — because what mam and son don't? There were probably plenty of times when they drove each other mad! But those little rows never changed the love between them.

Jack knew his mam was always there for him, and Evelyn knew that no matter what happened, Jack would always be her boy.

There was a closeness between them that is impossible to put into words. A mother never expects to have to live without her child, and there is a part of Evelyn's heart that will always belong to Jack.

She will always remember his voice, his laugh, his smile, his mannerisms and all those little things that made him Jack.

Jack and his dad Willie ❤️

Jack shared a special bond with his dad Willie too.

His dad was a huge part of his life, and they shared many memories together. Willie watched Jack grow from that tiny premature baby into the big, funny, strong-minded young man he became.

Jack was loved so deeply by his dad, and that love will never disappear.

Jack and James ❤️

Only 14 months apart, Jack and James practically grew up together.

They shared so much of life together — the good times, the funny times, the rows, the adventures and all the ordinary days that become the most precious memories when someone is gone.

James wasn't just Jack's brother. He was someone who had been there from the very beginning.

There will always be a part of James that belongs to those childhood years with Jack, and those memories can never be taken away.

Jack and his little sister Jalaya ❤️

Jack had an incredibly special bond with his little sister Jalaya.

He loved her dearly, and there was something so special about the way they were together. Jack could make her laugh, annoy her, tease her and look out for her all at the same time.

Jalaya will grow up carrying memories of her big brother with her. She will remember his laugh, his personality, the things he said and the way he made her feel.

Jack will always be her big brother, no matter how many years pass.

His nanny Joan ❤️

Joan was Jack's only grandparent, and she held a very special place in his heart.

Jack was deeply loved by his nanny Joan, and she was so proud of him. She watched him grow from that tiny baby born 10 weeks early into the young man he became.

There were years of memories between them — little moments, conversations, laughs and all the ordinary family times that mean so much.

Jack wasn't just her grandson. He was her Jack.

And Joan will carry those memories of him in her heart forever.

His aunt Joanne and uncles ❤️

Jack was also surrounded by the love of his aunt Joanne and his uncles PJ, Kevin and Aidan.

But Joanne was so much more than just Jack's aunt — she was like a second mam to him.

She shared a very special bond with Jack and was always there for him. She loved him fiercely, looked out for him and was someone he knew he could always turn to.

Their relationship was filled with love, laughter, messing and all the little moments that made their bond so special. Joanne knew Jack inside and out, and she will carry that special connection with him in her heart forever.

Jack also adored his uncles PJ, Kevin and Aidan. Each of them had a completely different and very special bond with Jack.

Jack and PJ's relationship was truly one of a kind. There was something between them that was so special and difficult to put into words. Jack absolutely loved spending time with PJ and loved staying in his house. He loved being around him and, most of all, he loved working alongside him.

Jack looked up to PJ so much, and the time they spent together created so many memories that will be treasured forever.

PJ wasn't just Jack's uncle — he was someone Jack genuinely enjoyed being around. They shared laughter, craic, friendship and so many ordinary moments that became incredibly precious. Their relationship was one that could never be replaced.

Kevin was another person Jack really looked up to. The bond between Jack and Kevin was very special. Jack admired him and had so much love and respect for him. They shared a connection that meant so much to Jack, and the memories they made together will always be held close to Kevin's heart.

And then there was Aidan.

Jack and Aidan were like twins. They were so alike in so many ways — from their personalities to the way they carried on. They had a special understanding of each other, and there was always plenty of laughter, messing and mischief between them.

Sometimes you could swear Jack was Aidan all over again!

Jack loved his three uncles dearly, and they each played an important part in his life. The love, laughs, banter and memories they shared with Jack will stay with them forever.

Family meant everything to Jack, and he was so lucky to have PJ, Kevin, Aidan and Joanne in his life — and they were just as lucky to have Jack. ❤️

Jack and his friends ❤️

Jack's friends were a huge part of his life.

He had the kind of personality that drew people towards him. He could walk into a place and before long he'd be talking, laughing and joking with everyone.

He loved nights out, having the craic and making memories with his friends. He was often the life and soul of the night, and wherever Jack was, there was usually plenty of laughter.

He wasn't someone people simply forgot.

Jack left an impression on everyone he met.

He had friendships that meant so much to him, and there are people who will carry memories of Jack for the rest of their lives.

His love of sport 🎯

Jack was mad about sport.

He loved GAA, hurling, football, handball, golf and soccer. He loved playing, competing and being part of a team.

But darts was something particularly special to Jack.

He loved the competition. He loved the atmosphere. He loved the craic.

And most of all, Jack hated losing!

Anyone who knew him will know exactly how competitive he could be. He wasn't going to quietly accept defeat — he'd have something to say about it!

That competitive spirit is one of the things that makes his memorial darts so special. Every time people pick up a dart, every bit of laughter and every bit of banter brings a little piece of Jack back into the room.

You can almost imagine him standing there giving out to everyone, telling them exactly what he thought of their darts.

And knowing Jack, he'd probably have plenty to say about the standard!

His working life ❤️

Jack was also a hard worker.

He worked in the family business, Mastiff Engineering, and he also spent time working in Denmark.

He was still only 19, but he had so much life ahead of him. He had so much more to experience, so many more places to go, people to meet and memories to make.

That is one of the hardest things to accept — knowing how much more there should have been.

The little things we will never forget ❤️

Sometimes it isn't the big moments that hurt the most.

It's the little things.

It's hearing a song and immediately thinking of Jack.

It's seeing someone who looks like him.

It's remembering something funny he said.

It's remembering his Snapchat messages.

It's hearing his laugh in your head.

It's remembering the way he walked into a room.

It's finding yourself expecting him to come through the door.

It's even remembering the silly little things that would have meant nothing at the time — like Jack taking cheese singles straight out of the fridge and eating them!

Those are the memories that become priceless.

Because they are Jack.

And when you love someone as much as his family and friends loved him, you don't want to forget a single thing.

The Jack everyone remembers ❤️

Jack was so much more than the circumstances of his death.

He was a son.

A brother.

A little brother.

A grandson.

A nephew.

A friend.

A teammate.

A workmate.

He was somebody's best friend.

He was somebody's partner in crime.

He was the boy who made people laugh.

He was the young man with the massive smile.

He was the person who would help others.

He was the life and soul of the night.

He was competitive, funny, stubborn, loving, caring, mischievous and full of life.

He was Jack.

And there will only ever be one Jack.

Forever 19 ❤️

Jack left this world on the 30th of September 2025, aged just 19.

No family should ever have to say goodbye to their child.

No mam should ever have to learn how to live without her son.

No dad should have to bury his boy.

No brother should have to grow older without his brother beside him.

No little sister should have to face the future without her big brother there to annoy her, protect her and make her laugh.

And no family should have to imagine all the birthdays, Christmases, weddings, nights out and ordinary days that Jack should have been there for.

But although Jack's life was far too short, his life mattered.

His life made a difference.

He was loved.

He is loved.

And he always will be.

His family and friends will continue to speak his name, tell his stories, share his memories and laugh at the things he did.

We will keep his memory alive in everything we do.

Every dart thrown in his name.

Every story told.

Every photograph looked at.

Every laugh that comes from remembering something he did.

Every tear shed because we miss him.

Every time we say, "That's something Jack would have done."

He will be there.

Because love doesn't end when someone leaves this world.

Jack will always be part of his family's story.

He will always be James's little brother.

He will always be Jalaya's big brother.

He will always be Willie's son.

He will always be Evelyn's baby boy.

He will always be Joan's beloved grandson.

He will always be Joanne's nephew and the boy she loved like her own.

He will always be PJ, Kevin and Aidan's nephew.

And he will always be the friend so many people were lucky enough to have.

His life will never be measured only by the 19 years he had.

It will be measured by the love he gave, the laughter he created, the friendships he made and the memories he left behind.

And if Jack could see all the people who still love him, all the people who still talk about him and all the people who are keeping his name alive, we hope he'd know just how much he meant to everyone.

We miss you more than words could ever explain, Jack.

We would give anything for one more hug.

One more laugh.

One more night out.

One more argument.

One more Snapchat.

One more chance to hear you say something that would have us laughing.

Just one more day.

But until that day comes, we will keep carrying you with us.

We will keep talking about you.

We will keep laughing at your stories.

We will keep crying when we miss you.

And most importantly, we will keep loving you.

Because you are not just a memory.

You are our Jack.

Our beautiful boy.

Our son.

Our brother.

Our grandson.

Our nephew.

Our friend.

Forever 19.

Forever loved.

Forever missed.

Forever our Jack. ❤️
