Robin Burns
Sometimes the gentlest souls leave the deepest footprints on our hearts.
Born on November 12, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY to Rita Bressler (Steinberg) and Harold Bressler. Robin grew up in Plainview, NY for the first 8 years of her life. Her family then moved to East Norwich, NY. She went to Oyster Bay High School and graduated in 1972. After high school she completed secretariat schooling and shortly thereafter took a job with the LIRR in 1975 at the age of 21. Robin went on to meet John Burns from Glen Cove, NY, got married in 1978 and had three children. Jayson in 1979, Rachel In 1982, and Tricia in 1987. She retired from the LIRR in 2005.
She lived in Glen Cove, NY until her death in 2015.
Robin was truly one of the most beautiful souls you could ever hope to meet. She was a wonderful and loving mother, but what made her so special was the way she made everyone around her feel.
Robin had the sweetest spirit, a gentle heart, and a calmness about her that brought peace to those around her. Her kindness wasn’t something she talked about; it was something she lived. It showed in the little things she did for others, in her thoughtfulness, and in the quiet, selfless way she cared for people.
There was something different about Robin, Something rare and beautiful that is difficult to put into words, but impossible not to feel. She had a way of making people feel comfortable, accepted, and loved simply by being herself. She never needed to be the loudest person in the room to leave the biggest impression.
Robin was proof that you don’t have to be loud to make a lasting impact. Sometimes the gentlest souls leave the deepest footprints on our hearts.
