Paz Herrera
In loving memory of our Mami
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved grandmother Paz Herrera has passed on March 20, 2024.
She was truly an unremarkable grandmother to us all and there is absolutely nothing that can compare to who she is as a person. She made sure our childhoods were filled with unconditional love and great memories that continue to bring laughter and warmth into our hearts today.
Mami , I wanted to say thank you for EVERYTHING you have taught me and done for me. Thank you for introducing to my love for coffee and for Jenni Rivera. As much as you burnt out her CD by having it on repeat when you would pick me from school listening to her now i can definitely see why you loved her. Taking the best naps on your bed when i didn’t wanna go to school and just admire your lipsticks when you didn’t see me. You gave me such a memorable childhood and also passing your love to my own children who love you as much as i do. I can say I am truly grateful and lucky to be able to call you my grandma. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things i’ve ever done in my life but I know you are ok and already building a home for all of us there. This isn’t goodbye this is see you soon 🙏🏼 Te quiero mami ♥️

Dear grandma
Grandma, I just want to say thank you for all of the things you have done for me, 18 years of you keeping me out of trouble have to be one of the most memorable moments I have, You used to always tell me to “Pay attention and do good because you don’t another person to outshine you.” This quote that she used to tell me will always live with me. The hard work that she put in, I will make sure that none of it goes to waste. You will forever be a part of us, thank you for everything, I love you so much.
From your new favorite grandchild

To Mami,
Saying goodbye to you was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I wanted to say thank you for showing me what unconditional love is. From taking care of me as a baby and letting me sleep next to you and papi to growing up and making snow cones in the kitchen, showing me how to cook little by little , our coffee and cookie/pan time even if it was in the afternoon with 100 degrees outside to dancing in the living room when we were cleaning and being there to wipe my tears when I broke my arm in the backyard and also when I took the wrong bus stop in elementary school , I remember you and papi were there to pick me up . I was so scared but seeing you I knew I was safe. Thank you for being the safe place where my cousins and I grew up together and now have that relationship where we can lean on each other in times of need. Thank you for absolutely everything . I wish my kids could have met what an amazing beautiful grandmother I had but one thing is for sure, they will learn what an incredible strong woman you were. See you later Mami, I love you very much 🤍

oh mami if only we had a little bit more time but I know god does everything for a reason and you are in a better place now drinking all the stella rose bottles, dancing, and guiding us the right way. You and papi were like a second home to us. You guys would take care of us, feed us, and be there for us no matter what. There are two memories that are constantly replaying in my head the first one being when we were exploring the kitchen. It was our own little adventure but the one that sticks with me the most is when you would laugh at me because my spanish was so bad and improper. This one sticks with me the most because I can just hear your laugh and see your smile in my head. The way you would laugh and smile and lay your head back. I love you so much mami. We will miss your beautiful soul everyday.

To Ampasita,
I want to say thank you, thank you for everything you did for all of us, thank you for raising such a wonderful family, thank you for giving us amazing (if crazy) moms and dads, thank you for the encouragement you gave us and for giving us all place in your heart. I am hurting having to have said goodbye to you but I know that you are watching over us and if we ever feel lost I know that I have the beautiful family you gave us and I will always have your beautiful soul watching over me. I will always keep you close to my heart like you kept us all close to yours, I’ll make sure to continue working hard and making you proud. I promise
I love you
-Allen
