Best Papa in the World

There are so many memories I could share. Trips going to Arkansas and eating pies bigger than our heads because Papa and I shared the same sweet tooth. All the times he’d pick me up sick from school and handed me a soup pot as a puke bucket. When he would drive into our backyard of our old house on the mule honking the ”Ahhhooogahh” horn. I have memories for days with my papa. I am so grateful for the time I had with him, it was cut way too short and I often find myself wish he was here for him to see where I’m at now. To see if he’d be proud of who I am and to introduce him to the man I’ll be spending my future with. I think they would’ve really gotten along great. I love you papa

Caring Mentor and Dad

I would need an entire book to write out what Sam did for me and meant to me. His influence is still so strong…just today I headed out to my field to work on electric fencing and remembered all the times he instilled a work ethic that has served me better than almost anything else in life. Alternatively, he also knew how to enjoy life with big things like taking time to go on trail rides (Keo was his special horse…and I do mean “special” especially when trying to cross even a puddle of water LOL), and in the little things. My favorite memories are not the big moments but daily life in the barn where we shared laughs and positive energy. I didn’t realize it at the time, but he taught me not to complain and to be grateful for what we had…because I didn’t hear him Complain and he was always so grateful for what he had worked for and was blessed to have. He selflessly spent hours at various school events, practices, games, and shows. The effort he put in to making sure we had a good life was passed to me unknowingly and now I try to do the same and fill those shoes for my girls. I used to call him for life advice. A LOT. wish I could pick up the phone again and ask what he thought about…well anything. So glad I had him as a step dad and no one else. What luck in life 🍀!!!

My Papa

Sam Davis was my grandpa, my papa. I always joked that he was like my third parent. But by far my favorite. Anytime I would get upset at my parents I would drive the four wheeler over to Papa’s. He always had ice cream, caramel, and chocolate sauce. My dad would call him, ask if I was there, and everytime he would respond, “she’s fine but you can’t come over.” Even know papa and my dad were best friends he still wanted me to have a save space and I’ll never forget that. I love you and miss you everyday Papa ♥️
