John Andrew Lutz
Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend
John Andrew Lutz, son of Barbara and John Lutz, was born on June 10, 1989. Always an avid sports fan, he loved the Chiefs, the Royals, and the Jayhawks. He was a dedicated student and friend to many.
He graduated with honors from St. Francis Xavier and Bishop LeBlond High School. It was during these years that he met the love of his life, Kayleigh, and they were married shortly after graduating summa cum laude from Missouri Western in 2011.
Just before they were married, John was diagnosed with a brain cancer. After numerous surgeries and countless hours of treatment, he made a strong recovery. He and Kayleigh have been blessed with three wonderful children: John Jude, Logan James, and Gemma Lorraine. In the summer of 2022, John’s tumor worsened. On September 17, 2023, surrounded by family and fortified with the Sacraments, John passed from this life.
He will always be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and his love of family and friends. John fought hard until the end and he will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his dedicated wife, and their children; his parents; siblings, Lisa (Warren) Galligher; Stephen Lutz; and Laura (John) Chavez; mother in law, Diana King; brother-in-law Fr. Alex Kreidler; sisters-in-law Reilly, Katie and Murphy King; nieces, Charlotte and Annabelle Lutz; Elizabeth Chavez; Adaline Galligher and nephew Carson Chavez; his grandmother Mary Harrell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Betty and John Lutz; grandfather Norman Harrell; great uncle David Harrell; and nephew, John Chavez V.
