Robert M. Petracco
ROBERT M. PETRACCO, 81, of Cream Ridge, NJ, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Friday, June 10, 2022. Born April 18, 1941, he was the son of Peter and Anella “Nellie” Petracco. Robert raised his family with his wife, Patricia in Howell, NJ, where he resided for nearly 50 years before moving to Cream Ridge in 2020.
Robert received his Bachelor of Arts in Education from Newark State College, and his Master of Arts in Education from Montclair State College. Robert devoted the majority of his life and career to his passion for education. He was a dedicated teacher, and Principal of Union High School, prior to becoming the Principal of Connecticut Farms School, where he retired in 1994. For Robert, retirement marked a milestone for pursuing his other passions such as landscaping, world travel, cooking, reading, poetry, appreciation of the arts and most importantly spending quality time with family, lifelong friends and those he met along the way.
Robert is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Petracco. He is survived by his three daughters, Cheryl Petracco, Pamela Serpe and her husband, Richard, and Jessica DeWysockie and her husband, Frank; his eight grandchildren, Cameron Maxwell, Connor Maxwell, Christian Maxwell, Chelsea Maxwell, Owen DeWysockie, Wyatt DeWysockie, Abigail DeWysockie and Charlotte DeWysockie, all of whom kept Robert on his toes and laughing each and every day; his brother Peter Petracco and his wife Mair; and by his sister-in-law, Loretta Malina. Robert’s life was unexpectedly enriched in his golden years by his companion of 7 years, Virginia Segaloff, who shared his love of travel, music and the arts. Robert will be missed by all those whose lives he touched for reason, a season or a lifetime, and all who made his life feel abundant and truly blessed.
