Life story

Walter "Mijo" Garibay III, left us on April 7, 2024, but his legacy of laughter lives on. Born into the Garibay family in Midland, TX, on April 21, 1984 to Walter Jr. and Janie, he was a man whose smile was as hearty as the fajitas he loved to cook, following his great-grandfather's recipe to the letter. He embraced life's ups and downs with a joke always at the ready, lighting up rooms and hearts alike. His business, 3WG Field Service LLC, stood as a testament to his drive and the close-knit bond of the three Walters. Those who adored him—his daughter Alayna, wife Ita, his stepdaughters: Hope and Genesis, his sisters and brothers-in-law: Erica and Stephen, Amanda and Jose, and Beth and Eric, his nieces and nephews, and the many he considered family—will remember his love for the simple pleasures: a well-grilled steak, the serene beauty of a sunset, and the laughter that followed his every story.

I miss you baby brother!

Dear Brother, Every day since you’ve been gone, the space where your laughter used to be echoes with the depth of our missing you. I find myself wishing, more than anything, that I could have been what you needed, that I could have held the darkness at bay and pulled you back into the light. Stephen, Marissa, Noah, and I—we’re a unit aching with the absence of your presence, a puzzle missing the piece that made everything else fit. You were loved, more than you could have possibly known, and the thought that love wasn’t enough to save you is a burden we carry with heavy hearts. Every memory, every inside joke, and every shared moment that we replay is a testament to the bond we had and still have with you. You were our family, our confidant, our source of joy, and without you, the world seems a little less bright. We miss you profoundly, every single day. In the quiet moments, in the bursts of laughter that still happen because that’s what life insists upon, in the milestones you should be here to see. We miss you in the everyday and the extraordinary, and we wish, more than anything, that we could turn back time and find a way to show you how much you meant to us, how much you were needed, and how much you were the core of our family's happiness. Wherever you are now, I hope you’re at peace, free from pain, and that you know how much you are missed and loved, always. With all my love and an aching heart, Your Big Sister Erica
