Camden’s Bench
Little visit with Camden
"If ever there comes a time when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever." -Winnie the Pooh
Camden was a fearless little boy who was loved by all that met him. He loved dressing up in superhero costumes, watching Avengers and the show Friends, going to daycare and playing with his big brother. He had the most beautiful smile, big brown eyes, and a belly laugh that would bring joy to all that heard it. He loved all of his family, but he had an especially close bond with his big brother Wesley, his dad, and his 3 grandpa's. Camden was almost 2 1/2 years old when he died of hypothermia as the result of a tragic accident. To those of you who have small children, we would like to encourage you to make sure to not only lock your doors at night, but to also have some sort of safety latch on your door as well to prevent your child going outside in the middle of the night. People warn you about the risks of having your children around water, fires, etc. but no one talks about the possiblility of your child walking outside during the night while you are sleeping. This unfortunately happened to us while staying with a relative and by the time we discovered he went outside, it was already too late. Our hope is that by telling our story, it could possibly save a child (or children's) life and give Camden's death some sort of meaning. We love an miss you so much sweet boy. Until we meet again.
