"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10
Ashley Nicole Dunham, a radiant soul with a smile that could light up any space she entered, passed away on September 23, 2023, at the age of 35. She succumbed to cancer 14 months after diagnosis. Ashley leaves behind a legacy of warmth and strength.
Ashley was born on March 31, 1988, in Indiana, where she spent her early years with her loving family, including her sister, Lacey. After five years of sisterhood, the family welcomed 4 more siblings into their close-knit circle. Ashley's formative years were marked by the bonds of family on the farm and the joy of youth.
At the age of 19, Ashley embarked on a new chapter of her life, moving to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It was during her time there that she met the love of her life, Jeff Dunham. Their adventurous spirits thrived in the picturesque landscapes. Their love blossomed, leading them to marriage and stints in Colorado, Arizona, and Indiana.
Along the way, they lovingly embraced new roles as parents to three amazing daughters. It was in Colorado that Ashley discovered Montessori education.
In 2017, the Dunhams moved to a new home in Gallatin, Tennessee. Ashley poured her love and warmth into raising her children and creating a loving and nurturing environment for her family.
Ashley was not only a devoted wife and mother but also a Montessori guide at Montessori East. She shared her passion for education and made a lasting impact on the lives of the children she taught. Her dedication and commitment were evident in every aspect of her life.
Ashley had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished camping trips with her family. Nature art was one of her favorite pastimes. She relished in the simple joys of life and instilled in her daughters a love for adventure and beauty.
In addition to her immediate family, Ashley is survived by her husband of fourteen years, Jeff Dunham; her children, Sophia Blair (age 12), Olivia Ruth (age 10), and Emilia Frances (age 8); her parents, Rodney and Andrea Martin; and a large extended family who will always hold her memory close. Ashley was also a beloved sister to her five siblings and joyful aunt to six nieces and nephews: Lacey (mother to Jager, Colton, Kash, Hazel, and Camilla), Brianna, Kali (mother to Owen), Caleb and Morgan.
