Anthony A. “Tony” Dolata Jr., 82, passed away in Wausau, WI on August 11, 2022. He was born in Milwaukee, WI the first child of Agnes (Marsicek) and Anthony Dolata Sr. on May 22, 1940. Tony grew up in Berlin, WI and graduated from Berlin High School in 1959. Tony married Carolyn Trochinski on October 22, 1966, and together they shared over 55 years together. He was a library volunteer and was a member of the Literacy Coalition Volunteers. Tony enjoyed baking bread and cookies, and gardening. He was proud that he went back to school at age 54 and graduated college with two associate degrees, one in architectural drafting, the other in model building. A skilled meat cutter and a fine cook, Tony spent most of his career as a meat department manager, beginning with Kroger and retiring from Festival Foods. Tony is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Tony-3 (Becky) Dolata, Rosemary Dolata, and Martina (Mark) Strehlow; grandchildren, AJ Dolata, Tess Dolata, Mallory Strehlow, Liam Strehlow and honorary grandson, John Mbanda. He is further survived by his siblings, Cindy Pendergrass, Dorothy Dolata, Tom (JoAnne) Dolata, Adrianne (Michael) Lemberg, Monica Dolata, Alice Dolata, Mark Dolata, Ed (Mary Jo) Dolata; in-laws, Jerry (Barb) Trochinski, Gene (Mary Jo) Trochinski, Cathy (Randy) Ellis, James Kress, and Nancy Trochinski; life-long friends Milt and JoAnn Haskins, and Bill and Marilyn Helmeid, as well as many nieces and nephews, each one was much loved and very special to Tony. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Sr. and Agnes Dolata; brother, Joseph; sister, Beatrice; brother-in-law, Richard Trochinski; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Kress. Funeral visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave. Omro, WI on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 9am to 11am with mass beginning at 11am. Burial at Waukau Cemetery will follow. For those unable to attend in person, the funeral mass will be live streamed, please see St. Mary's website for details and access. The family gives a grateful and sincere thank you to those who have provided so much kindness and loving support these last few years.
