In loving memory of Coach Sean Humble

“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they are gone the light remains.”
In 2014, Sean Humble and Frank McDaniel began coaching T-ball at Lumberton Little League. The first couple of years their daughters were in T-ball, some of their games were scheduled on Field two. At that time, it was an all grass softball field. Sean and Frank started working on the field to get the grass removed and get the infield in order. Those of you who knew Sean know that he knew everyone! He started calling in favors and doing what was needed to get it looking like a softball field. There were tractors loaned and dirt donated. Not long after this, we had a dirt infield softball field with a turf batter’s box. Eventually, the field needed lights. Of course, Sean was on it. He coordinated with the board to start getting donations so that there was as little cost to the league as possible. Now Field 2 is a softball and baseball field that is filled with fun, smiles, laughs and life lessons each season. This is possible because of volunteers like Sean Humble, who poured their heart and soul into girl’s softball at Lumberton Little League.
Thank you Lumberton Little League for honoring Sean’s legacy and his love of the game with the dedication of Field 2 as the Sean Humble field. Addison, Libby and our family will cherish this memory forever.
Sean coached many girls on Field 2- not only softball drills but on how to love life and have fun. To all the girls Sean coached, know that you were loved by Coach Sean and he loved being your coach! Most of all, he loved watching you succeed in life. Always remember to enjoy the journey!
