Brady Phillip Hackman
Brady Hackman was born on February 28, 2003, in Pekin, Illinois. He was a cherished son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Even from a young age, Brady radiated warmth and kindness, touching the lives of all who knew him. He was gifted with a quick wit and an infectious sense of humor and brightened any room he entered.
His family and friends meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was happiest enjoying activities like running, listening to music, playing video games, weight lifting, boating, playing with his dogs Jersey and Payton, and taking family vacations.
Brady attended Pekin Community High School, where he was a member of the Key Club. He previously played Pekin JFL, Pekin Pride Soccer, Pekin Boys and Girls Club Baseball and participated in track and cross country while at Broadmoor Junior High.
Brady was always so full of life and happy on the outside. Despite his outward happiness, Brady struggled silently with anxiety and depression. He fought bravely against the darkness that often overshadowed his bright spirit. He knew how very loved he was but struggled the hardest with loving himself. Despite all of the good that was in Brady's life and heart, he was overtaken by depression. In the last months of his life, he battled and fought so hard to overcome it, but tragically in the end, the depression won.
Brady's passing left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His memory lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by his presence. We hope his legacy serves as a reminder of the importance of kindness, compassion, and the knowledge that it’s okay to not be ok.
