Hello Mallory,
It was a pleasure meeting you and your father today. While I know I did most of the talking your presence brought me calmness and clarity. I apologize for not introducing myself sooner, I ride bikes there from time to time and I will be sure to stop by during my future visits.
While I am sure you know, you are loved tons! Great thought and care has gone into your space at the park, an absolutely beautiful space. Your father’s eyes absolutely lit up speaking about you today, please share with him I appreciate his time as well. I didn’t mean to be an interruption.
I look forward to learning your story, sharing it with others, and doing my best to point others towards your beautiful shine.
Thank you for your time and for listening,
Paul Noaker
I remember going to
Wittenberg for her freshman orientation. It was held in Commencement
Hollow. She immediately went to sit with an African American girl. After the program I asked her if she knew her. Mallory said “No, I saw she was sitting all alone and so I sat with her.”
Mallory was always saddened and angry when she heard of others who were oppressed. She wrote “One day, I want to work with organizations that are fighting for equality and making the change for a better society and a better world. Or even better, starting an organization of my own. [I want to be] Working with those who have experienced the things [oppression, racism, homophobia] that I never will, educating and challenging individuals to think more critically about racism and prejudice in hopes that one day this mistreatment will never happen again. God gave me a voice, and I intend to use it for those whose voices are silenced every day of their lives. I need to be the change.” Let’s let her light shine on in us all and let’s carry out the work she left unfinished!💜
