Milton (Pappy) C. Bell
Thank you for your service
Milton served in the armed forces. We honor that service here.
Bill was born in Washington, DC on April 12, 1933. He enrolled in the Navy after graduating high school. He served his nation proudly through the Korean War in the early 1950’s and came home with amazing stories to share including some close encounters with the North Koreans. He went to trade school for two years and then spent 50 years working for the local union in the sheet metal industry. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family. In the late 1990’s, he retired allowing him to pursue his hobbies and spend more time with family and friends.
He was happily married to Judith (Judy) Bell for 65 years. One of his favorite stories was how he talked Judy into buying their “waterfront cabin” in West River Maryland in the 1970’s, which at the time was in the middle of nowhere. Of course, the property became his center point where he enjoyed boating and became a true waterman. He loved nothing more than to take his crabbing boat out with his granddaughter, Jessie at 5:00 a.m. and lay down hundreds of feet of trout line and catch the “big grandaddy crabs” to have weekend crab feasts with his family. He loved his family dearly and loved attending all his family gatherings. He loved to go out with his son, Joey on his fishing boat and enjoy the sea breeze every chance he could. He enjoyed going out to eat with his family and could always go for a Whopper. He loved his Burger King. More recently, you would usually find Bill sitting out on his dock, soaking in the sun, and watching the boats pass by with Abby by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Bell; his daughter, Charlene Bell of Davidsonville, MD; his son, Joseph Bell of Deale, MD; his son-in-law, Harry Kalashian; his daughter-in-law, Maria Bell; his granddaughters, Jessica Goodman of Davidsonville, MD; Amanda Kainoa of Annapolis, MD, and Valerie Coyner of Churchton, MD; his grandsons, Francis Lephew of Craig, CO and Joseph B. Bell of Deale, MD; his great grandchildren, Jeremiah (Jay) Goodman, Madeline (Maddie) Day, Auztyn Lephew and Paris Tilman; his grandbaby dog, Cody; and last but not least, his pride and joy, Abby.
