Eric Victor Adams
Eric Victor Adams, age 34, loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away July 25, 2022, in Payson, Utah. Eric suddenly and unexpectedly passed away while doing what he loved and did best, serving others.
Eric was born March 28, 1988, in American Fork, Utah to Kathryn Haydee Adams.
Eric’s family moved to Payson when he was 8 years old, and it has been his home ever since. Eric attended Barnett Elementary School, Payson Middle School, and graduated from Payson High School in 2006.
Eric played baritone in Payson High School Marching and Concert band and performed in many parades and concerts. Eric earned his Eagle Scout Award as a young man.
Eric began his career in the automotive industry working as an auto detailer while still in High School. He also worked as a mechanic for his father figure Stu Haun at his shop in Lindon, and his Uncle Vaughn Adams.
Eric served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Florida Tampa Mission 2007-2009. He was a dedicated Missionary and has stayed in contact with many people he met and served during his mission.
Eric returned from his mission on June 5, 2009 and was sealed for time and all eternity to his high school sweetheart, soulmate and best friend Allison Lynn York on July 14, 2009. 6 short weeks after returning from his mission!
Eric and Ally settled in Payson and began their family. After renting for a few years Eric and Ally enlisted in a program that allowed them to team up with several other young couples to build their own home. Eric always worked very hard to provide the very best he could for his family.
Eric worked at AC Label for a while and then was blessed to go to work for Murdock Automotive Family. The past 9 years have brought Eric a prosperous career with Murdock’s auto lots in Lindon, Bountiful, Murray, and finally Santaquin. Eric was working as a finance manager in Santaquin when he passed. He was excited and looking forward to working at Murdock’s new Ford dealership being built in Santaquin.
Eric was a big tease and enjoyed having a good time. He could make anyone laugh and made everyone his friend. He loved spending time with family and friends. He would take his family and go camping at the drop of a hat. He enjoyed riding around in his side by side, dirt bikes or any other vehicle with tires. He supported his children and found great joy by attending baseball games, piano recitals, dance recitals, swim lessons and any other activity his children participated in. He recently started snow skiing and had a great time on the slopes with his sons Carter and Jaxon.
Eric loved serving and helping others. He was the “go to” guy for countless people. He had acquired skills, knowledge, and talents he shared with many people needing help. His passion for serving led him to become a Firefighter and EMT for Payson City. He always treated people with kindness and genuine concern during their most stressful moments. He loved the feelings of camaraderie while serving as a dedicated first responder.
Eric was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served in many capacities in his Ward.
Eric is survived by his Wife and Eternal Companion Allison, children Carter, Jaxon, Paizley and Hayden. Mother Kathy Adams, Siblings Tysan (Janelle) Adams, Amber Adams, Veronica (Bryan) Gordon, Adam Adams, and Lucas (Savannah) Adams. Father and Mother-in-law Gary and Tammy York. Brother-in-law Dustin (Kirsten) York. Sister-in-law Kristin Smith. Also, many nieces and nephews, most of whom considered Eric their favorite uncle.
Eric was preceded in death by his biological father Jose Jesus Delgado, Grandmother Carroll Louise Stokes Adams and Grandfather Ralph Walker Adams. And motherly figure Ruth Haun.
The family is grateful for the outpouring of love, kindness, prayers, and support shown by extended family members, friends, and neighbors during this time. We are especially grateful for the Payson City first responders and Mountain View Hospital emergency room medical staff for their heroic efforts as they fought to bring Eric back to us. We also need to thank Eric’s employer, Murdock Automotive Group, for their kindness, thoughtfulness, and incredible generosity extended to Eric’s family.
