Life story

Blake Makay Robinson Reddell, 21, of Western Grove, passed from this earthly life on Saturday, August 27, 2022, in Newton County.

He was born on July 19, 2001, in Harrison, to Jason Harold and Jennifer Kay Robinson Reddell. He was the middle of three brothers. Blake attended school in Western Grove and graduated with the class of 2020. He was a member of the basketball team and had a large group of close friends. Blake’s friends remember him as a genuine, caring and life changing friend. He attended church with his family at Yardelle Chapel.

Blake was determined, focused, and set in his ways. Once he set a goal he persevered until it was accomplished. Blake earned his associate degree in Surgical Technology at North Arkansas College and was voted to receive the Academic Excellence Award for his class. He worked as a surgical technician at Baxter Regional Surgery Center in Mountain Home and loved the work he did. He still practiced and studied after graduation and planned to become certified as a first-assist.

Blake and his family had a passion for the great outdoors. Jason passed down his knowledge for many outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing. Blake especially loved his dirt bike, starting the sport at the age of five. The whole family could often be found on a trail for an ATV adventure, on the water or on a camping trip. Blake even enjoyed working on the river during the summer. Blake enjoyed spending time with his friends even when he had to ask two weeks in advance. Blake often joked about Jennifer being the ”No Mom.” He would say, “Why can’t you be the “Yes Mom?”

Blake and Maddie met in 2020 and had their first date at a swimming hole in Jasper. Maddie remembers Blake first telling her he loved her at their drop-off spot at the bank. Blake proposed to Madison Breedlove on May 9, 2022, and she said yes. They planned to be married in April of 2023.

Blake’s dog, Bailey, was his shadow since she was a puppy. Blake built her doghouse himself and made sure it was stocked with essential household items. When Blake recently moved out on his own, Bailey followed. Blake also had a love for eating and was affectionately nicknamed “the vacuum.” He loved bacon and juice and was especially protective of his leftovers. He wrote his name on them to make sure no one else claimed them. Growing up he loved baking and cooking with his Mimi, Teresa, in the kitchen. Blake was very particular about his appearance, especially when it came to his hair. He had a tedious routine before ball games to make sure every hair was in the right place.

Blake is survived by his parents, Jason and Jennifer Reddell; his soon-to-be wife, Maddie Breedlove; brothers, Brody (Tatum) and Briggs Reddell; niece, Bristol Reddell; his Mimi, Teresa Robinson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends and family who loved him so much. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tommy Robinson of Western Grove and Harold and Fern Reddell of Vendor.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Western Grove High School Gymnasium with Pastor Derwin Martin officiating. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Brody Reddell, Jason Reddell, Garrett Dixon, Carson Parker, Zane Wheeler, Preston Savage, Mason Sisco and Drake Gibson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Sand Hill Cemetery or the Ozark Humane Society, 5147 Rock Springs Road, Harrison, Arkansas 72601.

One year

It's hard to believe it's been a year. I've said it before, but we should all strive to make the positive impact on people in an entire lifetime that Blake made in 21 short years. Blake, you are missed. Thank you for being a part of mine and my family's life. Thank you for the impact you made on Zane and the example you set for him.

~Blake~ Cousin & Nephew 💙

I seen this poem recently and thought of you and your Mom & Dad and other family and friends who you never got to say goodbye to... However, it really isn't goodbye, just see you in a while... “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” — Revelation 21:4 (KJV) Happy Heavenly Birthday "Blake"💙 We miss you and we miss seeing your face cousin and nephew. You will never be forgotten❤️ Love, Delaney, Jerrick and Aunt Elaine

My Nephew

I am uncle with lots of regrets. When you and your brothers were just kids, Elaine and I made almost every birthday party. As time went on and we had kids of our own there seemed to be less and less time for birthday parties and gatherings. I lost track of you and your brothers’ accomplishments. I regret that I didn’t stay closer to you and your brothers as you progressed through life. I would get bits and pieces of what you were doing and how well you were doing at the Christmas, Easter, and other small gathers our family would have throughout the year. I remember my kids wanting to see you do flips off the rocks at mom and dad’s house. I dropped the ball as an uncle and didn't know you as an uncle should. Nevertheless, I loved you and wished the best for you in life. I remember someone telling me the highlight of watching a Western Grove Warriors basketball game was getting to watch Blake dunk the ball, something I regret missing. You did well for yourself, went to college and finished with a fantastic degree in a field where loving and caring people are deeply needed. The outpouring of love and respect from your friends and fellow co-workers spoke volumes about who you were as a person. You left us way to early nephew, all we can do now is be thankful for the time we had with you in this life and strive to see you in the next one. There is no way to know or understand why this happened to you but with a heavy heart I am so grateful that GOD allowed for you to be surrounded with praying people the day you left us. Truly, you are deeply missed Blake.

My Brother

Blake, words cannot describe how much we miss you and the void that there is with you no longer here. Things are not the same without you. I’m so proud of all the things you accomplished in your 21 years of life. You had an unmatched determination and drive. Even after you had already graduated, you were always itching to learn more, practicing, studying. You were bound and determined to be successful in your career. This time last year we were joking about how you might have to share your birthday with Bristol and you were less than thrilled. 😂 Good thing she showed up a day late to the party, so you got to keep your day. Lol. I will do my best to make sure your legacy lives on and for Bristol to know the type of person her Uncle Blake was. You would’ve been the best “Uncle Blaze”. I’m so glad I got to be your “sister” for these past 7 years. You will always be in my heart, Blake. We Love and Miss You SO much!!!!!

❤️

Blake was the kindest young man. He was always so polite, smart, respectful, everything you would admire in another person. He was so funny! He will never be forgotten by anyone because he was so highly regarded. I remember seeing the younger girls chase after him, and he always had a way of letting them down in the nicest way. They actually liked him more afterwards 🤣 Jennifer and Jason, you two raised the most wonderful young men! Blake was so blessed to have parents like you. Your family is an inspiration to us all. Happy Birthday in Heaven, Blake!🎂

The Kind One

If you ask me to describe my cousin in one word, I couldn’t. Blake was kind, loving, caring, always willing to help, blessed with many talents and just the most joyful person to be around. Not being born into my family that I founds years later Blake made me feel like I belonged and he been there from the start. I will forever treasure the memories with him at Mimi and Papaws, tricks on the trampoline, endless egg hunts, and journeys to Mimi’s mountain where our older sibling had to come help us find the way back. As we get older we tend to get busy and lose touch but that was not the case with Blake. Every family event he was there and made sure to check up on you. On my wedding day not thinking my cousins would come because it was a wedding but Blake was there and help but he didn’t have to. He didn’t have to be kind, loving or supportive but what better representation to be the hands and feet of Jesus! Thats who Blake was , just a joy to all who knew him. I can’t wait for the reunion one day, until we meet again 🕊️

My Brother

Out of all the memories I had with Blake I couldn’t think of just one to say. But I will tell you that Blake was the brother I never had, and it was like that since the day we met in kindergarten! He was very bold, smart, funny, and anything else you could think of that would describe somebody in a positive way. He was very strong in his faith with god and that is probably the thing I admired most about him, because I wanted to be just like him! I will never forget all the memories I have with Blake and our friend group. He truly was an inspiration to all of us! Until we meet again my brother!

Blake: Nephew and Cousin

We have been discussing as a family a tribute to Blake. He was confident, had an infectious smile, and was determined to conquer whatever skill/task that he was challenged with. We would be at a get together and Blake would be working on a new skill such as knife twirling, backflips, or suturing- and the next time you saw him, he had become a master of that skill and had likely moved on to a new more ambitious objective. He was faithful in his actions, whether it was attending church or completing a difficult job. He took pride in doing his best at whatever he tried. Thought we have been seperated for a short time, we are thankful for the GREAT hope we have of a reunion with Blake one glorious day!

Blake My Brother

Blake was the type of person everyone wants to strive to be. He influenced so many of us to do the right thing while he was here and after. Blake had an amazing mindset when it came to doing something, no matter how hard the task you know Blake was gonna get it done. He had the biggest heart towards people and everyone loved him for it. We all love and miss you everyday my brother. You inspire all of us each and everyday still. Can’t wait for when we’re all back together again.

Blake The Unyielded

Blake was always honest, God focused, and kind hearted. With a good head on his shoulders, and his chin held high. He showed love to his friends, family, and loved ones. No matter what he always had a smile, and had a good way of giving one to you. I cannot wait to see him at Heaven’s gates standing next to the good Lord to welcome us all in.

BeLikeBlake

There are many things to say about my bother Blake, you could say hard headed, stubborn or maybe even set in his way. But I would say my bother was determined, he had a failure isn’t an option mindset, in everything he did he did it to its full potential and never gave up until he completed the task at hand. The thing I’m most proud of, of my brother Blake is he never gave up, he always pressed on. He always figured out a way. And that’s something so important we can take from his time here with us and apply it to our lives, Never give up, be determined, put your trust in God and you will always come out on the winning side.

Who Blake Was

My brother Blake was an incredibly smart and ambitious person who always strived to be the best version of himself. He never settled for mediocrity. Wherever he went he always created a positive environment and left the people in it inspired.
